| wait and see. The Chargers will figure out a way to get him to move 100 miles south and take us to the Superbowl |

| The same way he took the Jets & Patriots to the super bowl? |

| Pete's got it made at USC, I'd be surprised if he jumps back to the pressure cooker of the NFL. |

| If I were him I sure as hell would not go back to the NFL. He now has a blank check at USC, why leave. He was ran out of the NFL now he can tell every team that calls him to go fuck off, And laugh all the way to the bank. |

| I don't get why everybody is on this guys nuts. Yes, he has been a great coach at USC, but honestly, with all that talent I think a lot of coaches would have had big winning years there. Then, throw in the fact that he didn't do shit the 1st time around in the NFL. |

As a Patriot fan, I hope you are right. |

Pete had it made at USC, with the hint of NCAA sanctions in the air over the Reggie Bush debacle he could be looking to jump ship. I am not too sure how he would do in SD though. |

| Too many problems with the Chargers. No receivers and they just got rid of the heart of the defense by letting Donnie Edwards go. |

| Also, the GM is entrenched in SD, and Carroll (reportedly) wants final say over player personnel matters, so this wouldn't be a "good fit" as they say. I'd wave a big pot of money in front of Cowher. |

| Pete's the king of LA. He doesn't need to go to San Diego. Cowher might like it in SD. |

At 14-2 they should have made it to the AFC championship, not lose to a team that deifnately wasn't as good. And I'm a Pat's fan sating this. |

| I highly doubt Carroll will leave USC thats a dream job. I am sure the Chargers will find a decent coach. |

| Carroll has it made at SC. Why go to the Chargers and deal with A.J. Smith and his ego. That's laughable. |
|
|
| Double Rattler |
| Cowher won't be out there, to good of friend with Shotty. Carroll got the cats ass at USC all them hot young bald eagle jones runnin around campus. he aint leavin. |

| Hey, at SD he gets to openly pay his players but the draft may hurt his recruiting. |

| Ryan Leaf has coaching experience.. Maybe A.Gay smith can give him a call. |

| it sounds like AJ Smith could be fired so Pete has the control he wants |

| If Carroll didn't take the Dolphins job were he could've had full control of the team why would he go to the Chargers |
|
|
| Garvej |
Not only would they need to wave a big pot of money at Cowher, they'd also need to ante up a couple draft picks for the Steelers. That, of course, would be good news for us Steeler fans :)
Not likely to happen. Not to mention that Cowher didn't get along with the last a-hole GM (Donahoe) he had to deal with, and he's so Marty-like that he'd end up fueding with him also. |

Because the Dolphins suck. The Chargers are a year or two away. The Dolphins are at least a decade away |

| Jason it looks as though you may be correct. Now that "letter of intent" day has passed and Marty was fired right after, we will see. There is a rumor that Spanos will fire the GM as well, to bring Carroll in. |
