Best band there ever was, best band there ever will be!!!!!!!

I know some people on this forum are big AC/DC fans, but I bet a lot more are.

We used to hear more of it on Bubba, almost daily, I sure miss that from the Bubba show.

Bubba has had Brian Johnson in studio back in the FM days, and now Brian is into racing in a big way. He lives in Florida - i sure hope they get him on soon, he'd be a great guest, and could make regular appearances.

the best lyrics ever IMO. every song is about partying, drinking, women, just general good time stuff. nice to kick back and listen to compared to all the music nowadays that's trying to get you to "think". and to hear "For Those About To Rock" live in concert is something every rock and roll fan should expierience.....

AC/DC has remained credible as well as relevant for the last 30 years. They have weathered the demographic changes of the music industry without selling themselves out, they have always remained true to themselves and that's why they have such a rabid fan base. I see kids today that weren't even born yet when Back in Black was released wearing the logo proudly on their clothing. Although they aren't nearly as polished or refined as Led Zeppelin was they have certainly stood the test of time and remain one of my all time favs. There is no better performance, if you ask me, than Bon Scott howling LET THERE BE RAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWK on their If You Want Blood...You Got It album

The lyrics are good, yes, but the gutteral rythem section, with the best guitar riffs would still make the band without any lyrics IMO.

I saw them first in 88, when I was 11 years old. Also saw them in 91, 96, and 2001 - and if they ever tour again I will follow them across Canada.

By far the best live show ever, even took the spotlight from the Stones when they did that Toronto benifit - and the Stones live are damn near impossible to beat - I don't think any of the guys from AC/DC ever expected to do something like that.

The best AC/DC was from 77-83 in my eyes, Let there Be rock right on through to Flick of the Switch. The Razors Edge was great also, and got a lot of people listening to them.

Have you guys heard Jim Bruer's take on a typical AC/DC show? Fuckin' hilarious and a dead on B. Johnson impersonation.

Amazing impression doing the hokey pokie ala AC/DC.

I see it is off of youtube, I'd post it (I have before on the darkside a few times, it is hilarious)

Jim is actually friends with Brian, sat with him at a friend wedding and had him on his Sirius show a couple of times.

Probably my favorite rock band... Sadly I have never seen a live show (being but a "punk kid")... The live album gets me going every time... Thunderstruck could make a dead man's head bang!!!!

A true fan! Another favorite.

That was in my wedding music.

The live version of "Soul stripper" was actually our primary wedding song. How true that turned out to be.

bought my first brand new vehicle in December of 1990, that was the first cassette in the deck.... :D

here's a pic of my first love, 1991 GMC 1/2 ton. (ya, I'm a redneck) will always think of her when I hear any songs from that album...
Scales
Well, just spent 10 minutes or more to find out that the live version of "soul stripper was too long"

Other favorite AC/DC songs are

Whole lof of rosie (best rock song, and the guitar solo should be #1 on any list)
It's a long way to the top
Gone shootin
Soul Stripper
Squealer
RocknRoll Damnation
Dirty Deeds
Let's get it up
Rockn Roll ain't noise pollution
Night Prowler
Highway to Hell

Fuck it, there are way too many "greatest" to even get all of them in ones list.

I wish the boys could start playing rock music like AC/DC coming back from breaks. I am a big fan of Spice but the thug music is killing me.

yup! I do love ACDC!
I think some of that is because they are from "down under" - I like Midnight Oil also!!!

ac/dc will be a long lived legend, i bet that my kids kids will know who they are and will like them as well, i cannot stand the shit they play on the radio nowadays (actually since i got sirius almost two yrs ago i havent listend to regular radio) . ac/dc will be played at my funeral!! have any of you gone to a wedding and not seen the dance floor more packed when ac/dc thunderstruck comes on? its amazing.

I user to DJ at a bar some years ago and one night a band was playing and during the 1st song of the night, the guitar player somehow ground himself to the mike stand and all I heard was a loud pop and this guy on the stage was flopping around like a fish out of water. My boss said "quick, go put on a cd!" I went to the booth and just grabbed the first cd in the rack, popped it in and pushed play.....it was Thunderstruck.....I felt like a real shitheel.
Years later...I can laugh at this. The guitar player was ok, just shook up a little. Bossman thought I was trying to be "cute". I dint work there too long after that.

He said -
"Let there be sound", and there was sound
"Let there be light", and there was light

Without a doubt an immortal rock band, 'Have a Drink on Me', 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap', even 'Cover You In Oil' gets my voice hoarse screaming along, c'mon gotta give these guys props as top five band of the last 25 years. In the immortal words of Artie Lange - "Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiyiiiiiiiirrrrrreeeeeee'
mr.bigtruck
Too many ACDC favorites to list but not enough to say but "ride on". Great thread.
Scales
Wow, nice to see this thread keep getting bumped.

After they do the week bumpers from all the guys, a week of AC/DC bumpers would be very fucking cool in my eyes.

Like I said, for a bit there, I heard some AC/DC pretty much every show. Now, Zip!!! That makes me want to rape a baby seal in the ass.
Scales
If the BRN guys are truely animal lovers, they willl play more AC/DC I say.

If not us darksiders are going to go on a baby seal ass raping mission.

Who's in with me on this guys!!! We should probably group up for the mission.

"shes a nigga on a one way street"i did most of my evil deeds as a teenager rocking out to AC/DC.brian did such a great job i didnt realize for some time they had switched singers.

 scales your the man
Scales
Brent mentioned 'COD' (care of the devil) today.

That is one of their best songs, and usually only the hardcore guys realize it.

Get Brian Johnson on the show!!!! Hell, Bubba could probably get Angus and Malcolm as well, and let them rock out in studio. Bubba doesn't seem to realize how much he has stepped up in the media... they have a relationship with Brian and Jesse already.

AC/DC will always rule, people are starting to get it, but it is time for someone to embrace it in a big way, and Bubba is in position to do just that![/.
Scales
Since this thread was last bumped, they played 'whole lot of rosie' to the end of the guitar solo, and Bubba also recently played 'RocknRoll Ain't Noise pollution' - again one of their best songs, that only real fans appreciate.

Fuck the haters.

Howard, Fred, Gary, Artie, Robin, Bubba and Brent would put them in their top 10 for sure.

I'd love to see a 'best band ranking' by show, and by members on the show.

Name 10 bands better than AC/DC Mr. CAtDR. You can't, and if you do, you are way off.

Used to be the live version off of 'If you want blood' but then I got all of their bootlegs, and there is 1 or maybe 2 better than the studio version in that.

I also like the version off of the live album from 1990.

'The Jack' was one of the first songs I learned to play when I started on guitar.

By todays standards or ours... That is the difference. Of all time I would put AC/DC in a solid 20 or so in rock and roll. At the least 15 to 20 range.

I could have called this thread 'prove you are a fag and put AC/DC out of your top 10 spot'

So, if they rate so low, tell me what 10 bands you'd put before them. I asked that before.

It is tough to do.

Are you talking about sales, or just opinionated information. Elvis may have the lead then.
I will sit down and give my to 20.
But I will have to think about all of them.
