no, he did not say it wasn't a logn term deal.
what he said was it wasn't a long term contract. he's saying, the news isn't that they signed a new fat contract but he felt it was a step itn he right direction and a sign that corp has faith in them |

Doesn't Howard have a 3rd channel that he can use on SIRIUS if he wanted too? I remember reading that he had an option on having a 3rd channel. |

Don't think it's a third channel. I suppose all subscribers got the email from Sirius regarding the channel updates, which read, in part, "When you turn on SIRIUS on Wednesday, February 14th, your radio may need 2-5 minutes to receive the update from our satellites." Included in the email was a link to the updated channel guide, which does not list a third Howard channel, nor a new Bubba channel. My guess is that the K-10 ties in with Mutt's Beta test...
Maybe The Bubba Media Player? Maybe some sort of tie in to NASCAR? Part of the genius of brining Bubba on board was in that he taps into the NASCAR crowd & will serve as a draw for a crowd who might not otherwise be interested in Howard.

| Howard said he was calling a meeting this morning with management to discuss the future of Sirius (Howard had some ideas to pitch). Now Bubba said that the management is going along with whatever Howard pitched. Nice! Can't wait to hear what the K10 is!! |

Howard has not been shy about how he feels about Bubba and crew and last week he mentioned that Sirius management was messing with Bubba and he wanted to talk to them about it. Howard has seen the love Bubba is getting from his loyal fans and knows he wants to keep him and make him feel he is part of the family. |

I hope its not anything like a Bubba version of MasterTape Theater...that would suck bigtime...especiallly if Bubba used it in order to take off days he would otherwise be working.
Him being on live 5 days a week is just one of the things that makes Bubba so great and sets him aside from other personalities: he is a hard worker and does right by his fans.
Lets keep our fingers crossed that its something like Bubba getting his own channel or a longer show...so long as he stays grounded and doesnt get a big head along with it. |

I don't know what it is of course but it must be big and may be announced by Howard tomorrow when Bubba calls in. Here's my WILD guess and hope, Bubba gets his own(please) channel, all of 101 or maybe one of the vacant ones. Remember Sirius just rearranged and added more channels.

Hope not , i get out of work at 3pm (perfect). Maybe we can hear a repeat on the weekends other than the thur. Dr. Mark show. Nothing against it on thur. but do you really need a repeat of call in help. Fridays seems to be the craziest show so throw that in on the weekend or pick the wildest of the shows that week. |

In my opinion, the announcement has nothing to do with channel lineup shifts or changes. Its probably a big media tour thats going to cluminate in a concert type event for sirius subscribers, organized like Livestock (Livestock is a festival Bubba's old employer used to put on yearly. Big rock weekend.).
Thats just my opinion. Could be wrong, Hope I'm right. |

Ok. Here's my 2 cents. My conspiracy theory is that The Howard Stern Show has about run it's course. Howard is defiantly talking of retiring, and putting Bubba in his place. I think this is Sirius's step to further test the waters.
With Artie's ever worsening weight gain and his inability to remain awake, There may be a complete 180 in the future. Bubba in the mornings and Howard in the Afternoon?
I think that with Howard's notarity , he can still pull high caliber guests in the afternoon slot. |
