This is the year that the Dodgers will at the minimum clinch the division. If they survive the playoffs they will win the World Series. Anyone have 2007 Las Vegas odds of winning the World Series yet? What a scary lineup to face this year, teams like Arizona, San Diego, San Francisco and Colorado have no chance!

I would feel a lot more confident about the upcoming season if the Dodgers had one true power hitter. I don't expect to see many homeruns hit by the Dodgers in '07. Just like in '06. Pitching will have to carry them again. I'm envious of the teams that have numerous power hitters throughout their lineups. Must be nice. As always, looking forward to the upcoming baseball season.

You've forgotten the defending champs have the best pitching in the division. Padres 3peat WESTSIDE champs

They obviously have a good shot for the division title, but I really, really don't like the Pierre signing. Unless they trade for a decent power guy before the deadline, I don't see the Dodgers doing much this year, again.

The Dodgers have had success from non-homerun hitters like Roberts, Furcal, Izturis, Cora and so on. Of course they benefited from guys like Mike Piazza but it has been the rabbits that have made the Dodgers a real threat along with strong pitching. Rodriguez, Ramirez, Pujols and similar players are not necessarily needed in L.A. to pick up a title.

Why are you envious of those teams? Just look at the Yankees. They can have all the hitters they want but without pitching they are gonna go nowhere fast. |
