HowardTV Subscriber Numbers Question - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics

has anyone ever heard Howard talk about HowardTV subscriber numbers? I would imagine if they were impressive, he'd labor over them endlessly like he does sirius numbers but I can't recall him ever bragging or even bringing up the howardtv numbers and I'm curious if anyone has a recollection of him doing so, or has any numbers...

thanks

I've also wondered this as well. I think the user base using digital cable is limited and its even more limited to find digital cable services that offer OnDemand is going to provide an even slimmer user base than that of the old E! TV show. Don't get me wrong, I love Howard TV, OnDemand is the best service of its type out there, but my friend who lives in the state capitol of my state has digital cable, but does NOT have access to OnDemand and we both use Comcast. I feel lucky to have Howard TV OnDemand quite frankly.

The only number I've ever seen given was that at some point last year In Demand "projected" that HTV would have around 250,000 subscribers by the end of the first year. On a couple occassions I've seen Rob Jacobson quoted and also Gange mentioned once on the air that subscriptions were exceeding expectations. So if both of those statements are the truth, they would have at least few hundred thousand. That would be pretty good when you consider that only about 25 million households (which would be less than a quarter of the county) even have the option of ordering it.

thanks..... yeah, I'd imagine the numbers have to be solid, being that it would be too expensive an endevour to maintain if it wasn't profitable...

A quarter million subscribers and the lack of updates?

I've called the cable company a couple times, and someone told me to write my requests on my bill, so that's what I've been doing. I have heard that there are a couple different on demand companies, Howard is with "IN DEMAND". I guess my cable company does business with another.

Trust me, if sales were so great the techinical side of the programing would be a lot better then it is. It hasn't improved from the start, it has gotten worse.

I project Howard Tv has about 40-50 thousand subscribers. Just look at this board, where the most dedicated Howard fans are. This place only has a few posts a day. People aren't watching it!!!!

Perfectly stated borat187, and your subscriber estimate may still be too high.
