The Indians, whose slide from 93 wins in 2005 to 78 wins and a fourth-place finish last season was tied to a dreadful bullpen, signed Foulke to a one-year, $5 million contract in January.
The club would have had to honor that deal if Foulke had reported to camp and then retired.
"He didn't want to disappoint the organization or his teammates," general manager Mark Shapiro said, praising Foulke's integrity.Wow just show up then retire and they had to pay him. |

You just know when he had his WEEI meltdown "Johnny from Burger King" interview with Mike Holley and Mike Reiss (filling in for Dale) throwing softball questions at him, that he would classified as a cunt ... good riddance and thanks for being unstoppable in the '04 post-season ...

The Indians under Larry Dolan are a joke, just always trying to pay for used up crap! Everything with that guy is nickel and dime.
10 years ago, the Indians could have been The Yankees if they just kept what they had and or traded a few power hitters for pitching. Medium market team is such a bullshit hussle.
The funny thing about Cleveland & their teams, they have 2 billionares running The Browns & Cavs. Which have Caps, but in Baseball with no cap, they have a nickel and dime fool.
 :D :D |
