Man that sux. That match from ECW with him and Tanaka was one of the best matches I ever watched in wrestling history. Man WWE really fucked up the whole industry, I hope some of the other companies out there can overtake Vince, he' such a fuckin tool.

I think it's time these guys formed some sort of union to establish a pension. Is there any other part of entertainment in the world that has this many deaths before 65? Awesome was 1 of my favorites, big man who could move. Never understood why WWE just kicked him to the side after they bought out WCW.
Black_Kloogie
I heard he DDT'd himself in the living room.
alibaba
the awesome bomb was one of the best.

he must've owed Vince a lot of money.
KC CULTIVATION
Damn that is a BIG TIME Shame. I got to see him LIVE with ECW in Lauderdale @ it's peak with his RVD angle. I loved Awesome he was a mad man. What is it with young wrestlers and death. It's definitely needs to looked into. Is it just the depression and the loss of fame? Pain killers? Fuck! this sucks.....

Holy Shit Suicide? Fuck!

In Memory of Mike Awesome (January 24, 1965 - February 17, 2007)

I haven’t really read anything heartfelt or anything regarding Mike Awesome (Michael Alfonso) & the huge effect he had on the wrestling business; so I wanted put something together myself. Mike Awesome at 6’6 & over 300 lbs truly redefined what a guy his size could do. For a very long time, these big muscular monsters were regarded as slow plodding unathletic clods that could not do much & just had a good ‘marketable’ look. However, when Awesome starting hitting highspots, leaping to the ropes like a junior heavyweight & doing all kinds very unexpected from wrestlers his size. It really did a lot to open doors to inspire those bigger wrestlers who do have athletic ability to step forward.

His matches with Masato Tanaka which began in Japan ’s FMW turned heads when it made its way to the United States in ECW during 1998 & became centerstage when the two contested for the ECW World Title in 1999. When WWE signed both Awesome & Tanaka to one day commitments in 2005 for One Night Stand, they once again stole the show with their trademark extreme strong style work. It’s a huge loss of a true pioneer that exceeded his size restraints & brought a style to the United States that had not been seen before. I send my deepest condolences to the family & friends of Michael Alfonso.

See ya Mike. You were Awesome, but apparently still a bitch for killing yourself and taking the easy way out.

*shrugs* I know i'm gonna get flamed for it, but its my opinion.

Pretty much how I feel about it. I enjoyed watching Mike Awesome preform but I've got no respect for people who take their own lives. Bunch of bitches.
cub_fan_dan
Holy cow thats awful. Rest peacefully big man.
tlovyankee
I did not realize all of the wrestlers died. That is a big list and most of them are so young.
JayJayRamone
Bubba was talking about this death and there was stuff he said he didn't want to say on the radio. Then he played the Price is Right theme for a minute while he told the guys some secret stuff. When they came back, they kept talking about the secret, but wouldn't reveal what it was.

If they can't say anything, they shouldn't even bring it up. Now I'm curious as hell about what they were talking about.
