What an enormous waste of bandwidth. I hope they don’t plan to do that for very long. I realize it cost a lot to replace all those receivers but you wont see 300 channels anytime soon. I need to read that section because it sounds like the new company may give back XM’s bandwidth to the goverment for auction. Didn’t the merger say they were leasing back XM4? |

A buddy of mine is really in the know when it comes to audio technologies told me almost a year ago that Sirius was really doing a ton of R&D on the satellite video and navigation options... it sounds like we'll end up getting probably around 200 channels with the remaining bandwidth of the combined satellite company hosting real mobile video and nav. Shoudl be pretty exicting to see what comes of this a year from now. The big thing I don't like is that this can only be bad for both companies' talent... gonna be alotta cuts... probably gonna get pretty messy over this next year. |

In the Q&A section on XM's website, it ask "Will I have to get a new receiver?" The answer is simply "No." They say that everything will remain backwards compatible. At least for now, a rate hike isn't in the cards. |

Sirius and XM created a joint venture in 2003 I think to build interoperable receivers. The company at one time was known as Interoperable Technologies I think. They have been working on this for a while but I haven’t heard much about it in the past several months. |

Everyone seems to be using the Dish Network and Directv merger as a model for why the government will block XM and Sirius. I have news for everyone…The Directv and dish merger probably would have happened if Charlie Ergen hadn’t pissed so many people off. |

I get my DVD's from deepdiscount because you don't pay shipping. If you keep track of a wishlist you can see when or if there's a price drop.
A season of futurama was $29.27 and I noticed at some point they were having a '2 for one' sale so I basically got 2 sets for free. Weeeee! |

I think that right now, they're focusing on children's programming. It does have potential, however. Perhaps, one day before Howard retires we'll be able to watch a live show. |

I get the feeling the feds will make the new company give back enough bandwidth for a new company to come in and start up if the merger is to get approved. It’s a monopoly but monopoly of what? You can get Music, news and sports most anywhere on FM, AM or IPOD. Internet Radio will come on strong once companies like Cingular, Verizon and so on expand their wireless internet options. How long before new cars come connected to the internet just like a laptop with an air card? |

hey man even with kids programming it's worth it. Let's face it...$12 or so a month and you get live tv to the kids in the back seat? Does it keep them quiet on trips? I'm not a parent but to me, anything that keeps the kids happy and quiet in the back seat of a long trip is worth it to me. |

Yes to both. Gall bladder tissue has no regrowth properties and you can not get stones again for that matter (assuming that you did in the past.. ) |

I believe CC dumped their ownership in XM stock. CC does still have a relationship with XM as they provide content for 4 or 5 music channels. My guess is that agreement ends when that contract is up, if they have to wait that long. |

Ahhh, some companies still have call centres in English speaking countries. One of our largest home phone companies (Telus) has a large call centre here in Vancouver. Some other companies have call centres in New Brunswick for some damn reason...guess they're slave labourers over there. |
