I think Joe Rogan said it best in his last interview on the Breuer show.
If you haven't heard it, here it is....

They start out discussing the "Carlos Mencia - Joke Thief" thing, but then the subject matter expands into Joe's feelings about dishonest people in general ,and how they are, as he put it, "The enemies of culture". The reason I bring this up is because there are many people all over the world who are actively working against society and culture on a daily basis and don't even realize it. When you relay information that you know to be false, or misleading, you are actively defying the very intent of our culture, thereby making yourself a malignant force, a cancer on society. Lots of people on this very board do it everyday, and I myself have been guilty of dishonesty on occasion - never with bad intent - but that doesn't really matter. The truth is the truth, and a lie is a lie, and Liars are our enemies - all of us. The truth is what makes our human experience here on earth worthwhile. It allows us to learn from people who lived thousands of years before us - it allows us to avoid mistakes of others - it allows us to look out for each other the way that I believe we all should.
Anyway, Joe expresses it much better than I can, if anyone's interested.
I found it fascinating.
Of course I was high at the time. :D |
