well, I can't go into any detail about what is discussed in the Ladies Forum (one of the rules), but any of us can make suggestions as to who we would like to add as new members.
we do have to wait for the Powers That Be to Make the Final Decision, however.

I was told that it was suggested to invite me but the decision was no based of "no one" knowing me. Now we know this isn't true.. ergo my suggestion to have a ladies forum here.. where people know each other. And yes I clearly understand the need for a ladies only forum as I whipe the bunk of the thread :) |

well, I guarantee you more than one person in the LF KNOWS who you are.....the voting process is sporatic and not all that organized. don't take offense.
and when you consider what has happened with a Certain Person of undetermined sexual orientation, people are gunshy.
that said, having a nice area on the darkside for us gals (who are not Splooging all the time) is fine. I love it here. |

Siobhan was (accidentally) let into the ladies Forum WITHOUT A VOTE.
the reason we have voting (and the LF is Kimba's idea, btw) is to Prevent Insane people and guys posing as girls from getting in there. You are taking this as some 'insult' without understanding the downside of not being careful.
Siobhan got in unbeknownst to us - Never posted in LF (to make us aware of his presence) and just looked around. He found the thread where we were voting on whether we wanted him in there (Just in case anyone thought we dismissed him out of hand we actually THOUGHT about it). He didn't like some of the comments - which were fairly mild all things considered - and hit the alert button on one of our members.
Hitting the alert button and 'fighting' in general is against the rules of the LF. I mean, it SUPPOSED to be a place we can hang out and feel comfortable.
The result of this was that a mod (male) was allowed to see the post. The main rule of the LF is that no men are allowed in. In fact MUTT is supposed to be the Only guy in (for the obvious reasons) and even he does not "look" around. he doesn't snoop. He respects our privacy.
So, Siobhan violated at least TWO rules of the LF. Well, THREE if you include not making an introductory post.
Now that he has been placed in TO and has decided to go to the Shrine site he is threatening to "reveal all". Is that not the height of tackiness???
I am explaining all this because I want you gals to know that we aren't trying to Keep anyone out that is a real women. We just don't want drama. and people like Siobhan are all about drama. |

I am not taking it as an insult at ALL. I was just thinking it might be a nice idea. There are so few ladies here on the darkside though so it would seem almost silly to have an entire forum for like 5 of us. I don't want drama either. l was just thinking it would be nice, hell to even just have thread, to just shoot the shit with the ladies without it turning into night at the roxbury every and I mean every time. I like all the people who post here, and I think that we have a good thing. I think a large part of that is that it is mostly men and that the ladies that are here arent uptight prissy bitches. I have gotten messages from guys wives saying they would join SFN and post if there was a place like that here. It would be a decent ice breaker too.. get used to the place before swimming in the deeper waters .. and I don't mean the old GC either :)
The current ladies forum has their rules for good reasons. I like the concept though BUT it is just simply that the rules that make it a nice place for you make it not accessable to the women that post on this forum for the large part. That was my only point. |

I totally agree. maybe when Knot has a better understanding of the new features that the "new" sfn will have, we may be able to simplify the process of having a thread just for us girls. It IS nice to be able to just post ideas and have a pleasant chat without some guy swagering in with a COMMENT. however much we like guys - and we most certainly do - it's nice to take a break.
I feel that the Darkside LF will be easier to organize because things are so relaxed here we could actually announce in a public darkside thread that we would like to see XXX in our LF and no one would get nuts over it. And if someone tried to get dumb, Knot would have their ass in TO so fast their head would spin off.
It would be Impossible to do that in GC or in the other areas of SFN. The main LF is trying to keep a very low profile. I can post about it here only because people here are not insane.

Up to a point, yes. however, the biggest problem with the Main LF is that people know about it and because it's private it becomes a Challenge to get in. And, as I said before it makes us be more secretive. At this point most of us are paranoid because we have these nuts who think they have some RIGHT to be where they have not been invited. They have basically destroyed the whole concept of the LF because of their selfish behavior.
I fully support the idea of a LF here and I can take on the "job" of talking to Knot about it.

In my opinion... best way to have a "ladies" forum or thread would be to keep it open to view for all but able to be posted in by only the women... that way there isn't the secrecy and backstabbing caddy bullshit that seems to take place elsewhere...
If women or anyone else for that matter feels the need to talk shit on someone and doesn't have the "balls" to let everyone including that person at least see it and defend themselves in some manner somewhere... well... that's what PM's, AIM, and e-mail are for...
Secrecy no matter how well intentioned generally at some point leads to deception... deception to lies... and on and on in a downward spiral... |

that's right I'M not into "drama". However, Siobhan IS. He is all about Drama. the LF was going along, peacefully, QUIETLY without causing anyone any trouble and WHAMO, as soon as that nutjob got in there all hell broke out.
Letting Knot create a thread that can be SEEN by guys means that some guys will try to make mults to get in as fake girls and we can publically have fun Outing them. (I know guys, this will be a challenge to them). I can see all kinds of fun possibilities. I also think the alert button should be disabled in this special thread so we can really bust balls (when we find them). really, this could be SUCH fun! :jj:
Let me Once again point out that the Ladies Forum was KIMBA'S idea. It was never meant to be some insidious private club. The first members were not voted in - I was sucked in because I have been here since the freakin' stone age. It was no big deal. I never had a second thought about.

I love hanging out with guys - in real life as well. My career is all about hanging out with guys because it's technical and there are fewer women involved. I have more in common with guys. And growing up TALL I never could play at being a demur little girl. It would look rediculous. I'm taller than at least 50% of the male population. I don't wear makeup. I don't like lace, the list goes on.
Are there threads in LF that i don't bother with. Sure. But I can say that about every single forum on this board.
Part of me finds the idea of a LF a bit odd, but like I pointed out, KIMBA wanted it created and Mutt was not going to deny her. I'm not going to question what the owners of this board want to do. It's their house. period. |

It isn't you not wanting to be a part of it that is drama. Has nothing to do with you actually.. I can see your point of view quite clearly.
I just don't like what this is turning into, and frankly it reminded me that one of the reasons I like the Darkside so much is cause I really can't stand a large portion of the female population. If anyone wants to chit chat continue to use the aim and pms :) |

Mutt from day one had a policy not to harass females and that worked. Instead of SFN being a sausage fest like other fan sites we actually have female members here who contribute, like yourself. That gives the show some female feedback and any sub is a good sub for Sirius, they need any demo that is willing to sign on. The bashing and trolling at SFN can get a bit much so if this forum further encourages female participation, it is a good idea.
Keep in mind that Bubba's wife, Amanda and the other spouses already participate in a way that the Howard Stern show spouses do not, by posting blogs and admitting that they read SFN. If you could have even one of their spouses want to join this Bubba LF forum....mission accomplished. That's HAWT. |
