Scales Well, I live in Canada, but we have gun control issues as well. I own a .22 rifle, a 12 guage shotgun, a .300 Winchester Magnum, a 30-06 and a crossbow. FTEnelson there ya go belive me i know about gun control and this fucking state but that dont stop me haha i own 2 30 06 bolt actions an original m1 garage a 1908 springfeild 1903-a3 2 45 springfeilds a 44 magnum haha the dirty harry gun a remington 870 a 1986 browning citori im an AVID trapshooter and just to mark out to meself im pretty good hah i have a problem i cant stop buying hahah AZ Marine Hell, in Arizona we have open carry baby. I'm a Life Member of the NRA. Both of my parents were 4-H instructors when they were young. When I was in Junior High, doing the "controlled experiment" thing, I did a project to determine the proper powder load for a .45 cal. flint lock pistol. The goal was to find the amount of powder to produce the most accurate 5 shot pattern. We did it in a makeshift range in the basement. I thought it was an original idea that was pretty cool. In this day and age the school would probably contact the police and social services to check on my well being. I brought the gun to school as part of the presentation. My father, being a school principal himself, told me to take it to the office first thing in the morning. I told the principal I had a flintlock that I was showing in class later. I brought it in a soft case. He briefly looked at it and his only comment was "don't take it out in the lunch room". Boy, have times changed. I live in a city and there is no need for me to own a gun since there are no wild animals running around, just wild people and last I remember it was illegal to shoot wild people. I have zero fear of what might happen if I am stuck without a gun so I guess I will have to wait until WWIII to start before I pick up my first firearm. I do different kinds of shooting. Some pistol work every range trip, and some rifle work. I have a HEAVY target rifle, 308, that I hand load for. I build my own AR-15s, which are always fun to shoot. I love bringing an AR to the range about 2-3 weeks before hunting season. All the seasonal shooters come out, shoot about a 8 inch 5 shot group at 100 yards and call it good. That's when I fire a round every couple seconds for 20-30 rounds and have the same size group. I just started getting into long range shooting, local club has a range out to 500 meters. Currently out to 300. Anyone shoot cometitions? I shoot IPSC matches, which start this month. If you don't know what IPSC is, it's basicly run and gun with your pistol. You get into a specific start postion, the timer beeps, and you haul ass. Average stage, between 4-5 stages locally, you fire about 25 rounds. Some people have the "race" guns, usually a tricked out 1911, with a double stack mag with 29 rounds in the magazine. I shoot the Production class, use a stock pistol with 10 rounds in a mag. Yup, I'm a gun nut, look at me ramble. :D Anyone have any jackasses show up at the range? We had a guy bring his .22 pistol to show another how to shoot. Jackass had a jam, so he turned and aimed the muzzle down the line to clear it. He booted real quick. Take an all day class with range time (that's a plus), file paperwork with $105, have to get finger printed, passport photo, then go in front of a gun board so they can approve/deny the application. Plus I live in Florida - one of the most gun friendly states.
