I was actually pretty happy with the fights... Heather and I searched all over Atlantic City to find a sports bar or something that was gonna play it... you'd think that it would be all over the place in a place like AC, but we only found one bar carrying it and we ended up getting some pretty good real estae right at the bar infront of a big plasma screen :) .... the only thing was that they had loud music playing so we couldn't hear any of the sound, but all in all, a pretty good show. I was absolutely amazed by Couture... I had counted him out, but I guess I forgot that Randy at heavyweight is 10x better than Randy at 205.... he looked much more healthy than I had ever seen when he was fighting light heavyweight. You gotta love him, he proved alot of people wrong... including me :) |

Sylvia was fucked. he couldn't adapt one bit to what Randy was doing. just kept trying to jab.....when Randy took him down for the last time, you could see him say "FUCK".... :D

Looked like Couture watched some Liddel tapes because he was throwing punches and hooks over the top at Sylva like Liddel
Impressive performance

Oh I believe that... Randy would own Tim on the ground on his worst day. It's just I thought Tim was gonna keep him at a distance with that jab, guess not.... I was honestly hoping for Tim to win for selfish reasons... basically, we know that Crocop is gonna be fighting for the title soon enough, and I was really looking forward to Mirko dismantling Tim.... but now, I'm not going to take any pleasure in seeing Randy getting his head kicked off. Hopefully they'll atleast set up an intermediate fight between Tim and Crocop for the #1 contender spot, instead of sending Crocop straight to Randy or sending Tim in for an immediate rematch with Randy. We shall see I guess. |

Hey GOC... I'll have to check that thread out then. I know Pride still has an event scheduled in June at the Staples Center in Cali... so I'm not sure if that'll get canceled as well or not. Honestly, I'm one of the few that would rather see Pride stay in Japan... I'm just not a fan of the watered down rules imposed on the U.S. events by the athletic commisions. I'm not gonna be there live anyhow, so I'd much rather see the knees, stomps, and soccer kicks allowed on downed opponents. Also, the crowds over there are much more knowledgable and respectful of the sport. |

I agree about the knees and kick deal...even Joe Rogan brought that up during the Sylva-Couture fight when Randy kept his hands on the mat on purpose while he was trying to escape Sylva for only the time during the fight |
