I have been having so many fucking problems with Sirius since January! My wife bought me the Sportster for Xmas (upgrade for me). I installed it in January and they said it was "defective."

She bought it from Sirius directly.

They told me to send it back and they'd send me a new one. I did and they sent me a nice Starmate replacement.

It was working fine for a few weeks and then I started getting more static and more static until one day it was nonstop static for about 15 minutes and I call them. The lady troubleshoots with me over the phone (after a 20 minute wait) and nothing works. She tells me that the FM transmitter is shot. I was pissed!! She tells me I have to send the whole thing back again...

On top of that, my wife's radio doesn't work anymore because I added her to my plan and when I upgraded to the Sportster in January, they turned off her radio instead of my old one. Fucking idiots!!

I feel like just cancelling everything and telling them to fuck off, but I really enjoy the programming.

I'm going to give them one more chance and if something else fucks up, I will cancel it.

The solution to your problem is simple. With the newer receivers you need to stop using the built-in FM transmitter. They were weakened by the FCC crackdown, which leads to interference from local FM stations. To solve this static problem you need a direct connection between the Sirius receiver and the amplifier/speakers at home, the office, and the car. For the car, just use the Wired FM Relay switch ($20) seen here: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-uOhobY...rch=wired+relay.

It's easy to install and will eliminate the static in the car. Otherwise you need a hardwired connection to eliminate the static. The hardwire intallation is best if you know how to do it or can pay someone to do it for you. But for most people, the Wired FM Relay switch is the easiest solution. You'll be VERY happy with the results. NO MORE STATIC!! Good luck. When using the Sirius receiver at home or office, you will need a direct wired connection to eliminate the static. Just stop using the built-in transmitter, you obviously have a very strong FM radio station interferring with the Sirius receiver.

Ive personally had problems with the antennae's for every unit Ive ever had

I just replaced my old head unit in the car and now I cannot get a clear signal...I can barely hear the music/talking. Would the FM direct adapter fix that or do I need to call Sirius to have this problem resolved?
