Anyone else had problems with their Sportster lately? I've got one of the old ones and it won't get past the NFL screen and go to the radio. Anyone else have this problem? I guess I'll just replace it but wanted to see if anyone had fixed there's before I do it.

Hi,
I have the same sportster... had it since Xmas of 2004 so it's very old.

I have noticed that problem once in a great while... i just unplug it and plug it back in and it works fine. It seems to only happen when it's really cold for me.

You can find sportster receivers on ebay for a reasonable price. I'm going to get one for a back up. I really am not interested in getting a new boom box, and putting a new cradle in my truck when this one craps out.

we just got a new sportster receiver and the fm modulator in it doesnt work. it won't even play on the car stereo when plugged in., just the boombox and when its in the boombox it doesnt transmit to other radios in the house just the boombox.
i guess i have to send it in!!!

None of the radios have strong FM Transmitters in them anymore because of the FCC. It's not a bad Sportster, in fact it's one that is FCC Compliant vs. the old one which isn't.

Ultimately if you want to fix the problem you will have to instal it without the FM Transmitter, like using an FM Direct Adapter or Cassette Adapter.
