Why do you want "guest workers"?
Why not support increasing the levels of legal immigration for the best and brightest around the world who would like to come and live in the US permanently?
You know the "guests" and their families are not going to leave.
Is it because you don't want them to eventually vote?
What would you prefer? More guest workers or more legal immigrants? |

So do you prefer the guest worker program?
By design, guest workers are here temporarily and must leave after a certain period of time (very unlikely).
Increasing legal immigration levels for "permanent residents" would also provide for more workers in the US.
Do you prefer increasing guest workers? Or increasing permanent residents? |

Heres the deal. Guest workers have to be approved by the govt. Meaning that the companies (farm companies) have to try to get americans if they cant they can get guest workers.
The idea is that they would go back. Otherwise they wont be able to work again.
What we need to do is really focus on those who hire illegals. Punish them. Take away the carrot and the illegals wont come. |
