Ok. This one is for the FTE's. When I first went into training to get my CDL, we had to attend several mandatory classes that dealt with drivers safety, etc...etc...I'm sure your all familiar with the type.
Well, we were told that when it comes to running over animals with your truck...don't swerve to miss them. Just hit them straight and square, as this would lead to less of a disaster than if you were to flip your truck into the ditch trying to miss...say...a deer.
Several months later...one of our company drivers was in Texas...driving on one of those long, drawn out stretchs of road where you can see for miles (you know the type), when he saw a cow standing in the road.
You know he had to have seen it from at LEAST half a mile back. Did he slow down? Stop? Go AROUND the cow? No.
I swear I am not making this up. Total shoot, gang.
He sped up. And hit it straight and square, just like he was told. Totalled his truck. Cow was none to happy about it either. |

This should probably be in the FTE thread, but he obviously was NOT looking ahead. He also could have possibly gone partially off the road to avoid the cow.
Not a smart move for a noob driver. |

| Well, maybe should be in the FTE thread. I was kinda interested in some stories that Darksiders in general might be able to tell. Bet theres a lot of them. *nod* |

Quick one before i leave, turtles are a problem on the roads here in Florida. I love turtles, so to avoid killing them, I DON'T go around them.
I line up to drive DIRECTLY at them! They see me, go into their shell, and it allows me to keep my truck straight, go over them, and completely miss them!
Just some food for thought to save some turtles.
