I say yes...mainly b/c Bubba's not just broadcasting to people in Tampa, but yet they're using it to gauge his popularity across the country. (its a shame he isnt broadcasting over the public airwaves around Tampa b/c I'm sure more people would show up since they can drive there)
Just because people from California or Wisconsin dont show up at Lakeland tonight, do they think it means people there dont like his show? I mean I'd love to show up at the KOC event tonight to support Bubba but like many others, I cant afford to fly down there and spring for tickets.
I think it's fucked up for them to let his career hang in the balance over attendance at a show where some people wont come simply b/c they live out of town |

Yes it is wrong.
Seems there should be a way to observe channel traffic in some way to better get an idea of his listening audience.
I don't think surveys and polls work well either simply for the fact that a large majority of Bubbas audience members are FTE and may not care/have time to poll/survey. |

All Sirius subscribers have an account at Sirius.com. From now til time for them to start thinking about whether to renew his contract or not, they could put an account specific question/poll up so that the subscriber has to log in to Sirius.com and can only answer once...something like "Do you listen to the Bubba the Love Sponge Show? yes or no"
If it's up there for several months, that should give people plenty of time to get online and submit their answer...and with them only being able to answer once, the results should be reasonably accurate.
Bubba's a great radio personality and he brings a lot to the channels...so much that if they ever do open up a 3rd channel...I hope Howard/corporate gives it to Bubba as a "thank you"...with all his and his crew's creativity I'm sure he wouldnt have any trouble filling 24 hours of programing. |

I thought that the Gauging was on Bubba's Tab..he's the one that seems to be hung up on trying to use these events to show Corporate how many listenesr he brings....
Bubba worries too much...He's radio gold for sirius...
I just need to find a Darksider that is going to Lakeland to buy me a NFC CD and ship it to me without jacking up the price to high... |

It's all Bubba trying to figure out how to put his name out there.
anyone who has listened to Howard for a few years has got to learn how to exploit noteriety.
good for him. ambition is admirable. |
