If we don't pull out of Iraq soon it is time to work to impeach Bush. Everyone is fucking sick of Bush. Hagel did piss me off though a year ago when he endorsed Govenor Heineman over Tom Osborne. |

An extensive survey published by the Sunday Times of London found that Iraqis strongly prefer their current leadership to life under Saddam, favor a united Iraq and do not think the country is in the midst of a sectarian civil war. The poll found that Iraqis, by a 2-to-1 margin, think President Bush's plans to bolster U.S. forces in Baghdad and other problem areas will work.
Excerpts of the poll results as published in the Sunday Times of London:
-- Only 27% of Iraqis believe their country is in a civil war. That number divided along religious lines, with 41% of Sunnis believing Iraq was in a civil war, compared with only 15% of Shi’ites.
Not surprisingly, the divisions in Iraqi society were reflected in statistics — Sunnis were more likely to back the previous Ba’athist regime (51%) while the Shi’ites (66%) preferred the Maliki government. |
