| We make a deal for Spikes and now the Redskins are going to counter. They are in the hunt for Lance Briggs. Fucking Dan Snyder and his endless wallet. Its alright once they give him that big contract he will be average just like every other player on that team |

| I hope the Bears hold out for more than a 1st pick swap. I'd much prefer they treat Briggs with spite and let him never play again if he wants to be an asshole than make a shit trade like that. |

| The Redskins will ruin Briggs just like they did with Trotter. The redskins system is totally different then the Bears. Plus I dont know how briggs will play without Urlacher next to him. |

| Redskins suck. Dan Snyder has no fucking clue how to build a team, they waste a 3rd round pick on TJ Duckett (who never played and is gone) and traded up to draft Rocky McIntosh last season. They already spent free agency dollars on Marcus Washington and this season on London Fletcher. How many dollars of the cap do thay want to spend on LBs anyway? They give away draft picks like they're worthless. They will never win with this philosophy. |

| Shocker ..what are you bitching about? Your own post made the proper point ..the Skins always deal for guys who are never as good with them than with their original team. I'm a skins fan, and while I like this move in theory, at some point, you gotta rebuild through the draft ... on a related note, I don't think the deal for Spikes was good ..the guy's washed up. |

| we should have never traded Bailey for Portis. I love Portis and I'm an alum of the U but running backs can be found anytime, shutdown corners like Bailey are untouchable. Oh well sucks to be skins fan right now |

this isn't a popular opinion in skin territory but I agree... I love portis and he's a team guy, big time team guy, but I think his impact on our team has been far less than what bailey's would have been had he stayed... and as much as I like portis, there has not been a situation in his career where his absence wasn't statistically replaced... the broncos didn't miss a step and betts last year didn't either...
saying that though, the prospect of a 2 back system with betts (if he can hang onto the ball) and portis is appealing..
then again, the williams system doesn't need talent, just warm bodies back there.. |

Bailey was leaving anyway. He had another year on his contract and wanted out so at least we got something for him. Besides, I love CP! |

| rumor is they are now looking at jamarcus russell ..probably just a ploy to move the briggs deal along, but snyder is a big enough moron to try and get the raiders to deal the #1 even though they gave up 3 picks to get Campbell 2 years ago. mrrrrrrrrr |

I can't see them EVER making a legit move towards russell... now, I wouldn't put getting CJ past them, and using a russell rumor to move up in the draft (though who would really believe that?)... even though we need DE/DL, getting CJ would make the offense on paper unstoppable (a common redskin notion in the offseason)... to get CJ, the skins would have to trade up to number 3... raiders are getting russell and I can't even fathom millen picking a WR for the 4th straight year, so that leaves cleveland...
personally, I think the skins will get briggs, doesn't seem like there are any other teams making offers and the bears have to accept that they will either move up in the draft or have a guy who sits out a year... so they could at least get something from it...
and then with the 31st pick, I see the skins getting a DL... but who knows... the skins FO ain't exactly a model of success so I wouldn't put anything past them.. |
