What is the exact origin of the Howard fist logo? Who created it? I was watching "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle" http://www.mtv.com/onair/doggy_fizzle_televizzle/ and http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369099/ on MTV2 the other night and an episode that had a sketch entitled "Hoops against the KKK" (season 1, episode 5, circa 2003 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0563841/ show recap http://www.tv.com/doggy-fizzle-tele...71/summary.html ) and I noticed that the logo on the front of the basketball players' uniforms looked awfully familiar. Did Ralph design the fist logo? If so, I'd be interested in hearing why his logo looks so much like something that's already been done. The resemblance is truly amazing.

It's nice to see that someone actually visits this forum. Too bad the H-100 news doesn't...

Hope Howard paid someone to use that logo.

prolly as long as theres the slightest difference they can get away with using it (like how Howards fist has an H formed by the middle and third finger).. as a matter of fact i'd be willing to bet Howard has a copy right on his fist ;)
Hammergear
Didn't Ralph "create" the Howard fist?

is the inspiration for the logo.
Howard said in his moving to sirius press conference that he wanted his logo to reflect the rebeliousness of the Black Panthers, and how they always held a fist up.

its a black fist, like the smiley face its public property.

the black fist is iconic in the black panther party, undoubtfully, thousands of companies and people use it as "their" logo

That exact logo can be found at a local New York City College. It's a huge sign that's been on the walls of it's (I think library) for years. Yes, it was replicated by Ralph. The only change he made was to put the bar across the fingers to form an "H". He should give credit where credit is due.
Oscar Wilde
Ralph "created" the logo but its similarity to that MTV logo was discussed on the show some time ago. It was agreed that Ralph stole it.

It's a fist for Bababooey's sake. How many different ways can you make a fist? You can't claim a copyright to a fist any more than the peace sign or the good ol' one finger salute.
