A foul mouth has cost one Vancouver man his life.
James Mintus, 21, died on Sunday after being impaled through the face with a piece of rebar Saturday afternoon.
According to police, Mintus had just finished an argument with someone and was shouting and swearing as he walked down the street near Tinseltown.
A 27-year-old woman walking in the same area with her partner and two kids, ages five and six, told him to watch his language.
According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the argument lasted six or seven minutes, and then Mintus pushed her to the ground.
That's when the woman's boyfriend, who police believe is 21-year-old Honduran refugee Jairo Barrientos, took the kids aside, and allegedly grabbed an eight-foot-long piece of rebar from a nearby alley and shoved it into Mintus' face.
The suspect is now "on the lam" and wanted for second-degree murder, said Const. Tim Fanning yesterday.
Barrientos has been in Vancouver for four months and is applying for refugee status here. He's currently wanted in San Francisco on drug possession and trafficking charges, and has had run-ins with police in Portland, Oregon and Denver, Colorado.
