Because the satellite sends on signal with all content, the radio receiver descrambles the info, but there is no way for your radio to send back a signal to the satellite to tell them what you are listening to.
Just like regular radio, Arbitron ratings are done by phone solicitations asking people what they listen to and such. |

Happened to me about 5-6 years ago...someone called me a couple times over a couple months playing me music over the phone via a radio they had at their desk...horrid quality...then asked me to rate every song...time consuming sometimes. |
