It looks like they lowered the price of the stiletto 100 and 10 by $100 at circuit city and sirius.com and other places

Yeah i just bought my 100 about two months ago. I am really getting tired of being jerked around with poor quality and now pricing. :(

Poor quality. Really. I never hear people say that. They might have something more specific to say. But if this is your first post I'd be surprised if you have one.

And you are complaining about a new lower price??? Do you go to WalMart and bitch to them that the prices just keep getting lower?
Mutt
for poor quality, he must be talking about the FM modulator in the car dock. you gotta hard wire it.

if you are talking about sat reception, if you don't have net access or a repeater, in the house it needs to be plugged into the antenna. outside, you need the headphones with the antenna. bottom line, you need to know how to use it for it to work. once you get it figured out, it's pretty damn good
howies5incher
yeah best buy has it for 249.99 pretty substantial price break...

That sucks, I just brought a S50 on ebay for $100. I could of have brought the Stilletto 10 for $149.99.

I'd rather have the storage space of the S50 than the bare minumum storage and portability(no wifi) of the Stilletto 10.

I have over 400 songs stored and I still have room to record a full 6 hours of Howard.

Oh really so the S50 was a good deal to go with, you brightened my day. I kind of feel like I got hosed but I don't really want the S10 to get sirius anywhere I wanted the S50 for storage so I could record a bunch of music and Howard!!!

Can you run a tape adapter out of the Stiletto? It looks like shit but works like a charm with the other radios.

S50=50 hours
Stilletto 10=10 hours
Stilletto 100=100 hours

btw-you can load mp3's from your computer but they take up alot more space than a comparable song snagged from Sirius broadcast.

A little trick I do w/ my S50-

1.Clear out all of my channels(My Octane,Hard Attack, etc.) in My playlists.( I think this part is seperate from the permanently stored content and has a limit)
2.Tune in whatever channel you want to capture and leave it on all night as if you are just listening-you don't have to do anything to capture the content.Any COMPLETE songs will be automatically stored in My (whatever)
3.Go to My (whatever) in the a.m.,skip through all the songs and heart what you want to keep.In a matter of a week or so you'll have a ton of music without skipping around and/or listening to music channels all day just to catch a couple of songs.

This also works for RawDog-the comedy bits are broken up like songs, but not talk channels.I'm not sure about other comedy channels.
The only thing you are hindered by is where the song title breaks are inserted-you may not catch all of the beginning, end or get some previous /next song 'bleed-thru.'

Cassette adaptors will work with just about every Sirius receiver

How long is the buffer when you keep it on all night??? I have a Starmate Replay and I do that in the car right now. I keep it on all day when I am at work, so when I go to lunch and go home(1 1/2 drive) I can rewind about 45 minutes and listen to Howard and skip through commercials and stuff.
twitch1942
On my S50 it will capture/hold apx. 8 hours of a music channel or Raw Dog.The rewind/pause buffer is 47:17.This part of the memory is seperate from my permanently stored content. It will always 'lock in' a certain amount of space for these parts of the memory.I wish that this method worked for Howard100/101,but I can program it to record Howard's 6am broadcast and then listen later and skip the commercials.

So what your saying is that the S50 will capture your favorite music channel and automatically record it. Then you go back and save the stuff you want and delete the stuff you don't need??? And it dosen't work with the Howard 100&101 stations??? And if not why the first broadcast is broken up in segments everytime a guest comes in or they change topic??? Man I can't get this damn unit fast enough, I should of brought one of these from the beginning!!!

Yep-captured automatically.

Doesn't do this for talk stations. If you record the west coast replay-it says West coast replay throughout the whole show and you can't one touch skip thru commercials/segments.

Do you have the Home kit for the S50? If you do how do you connect it to your stereo?

No home kit, just car kit.I'm a tanker yanker so I listen to it all day in my truck. When I do get a chance to listen at home I have an antenna already set up in the house and I plug my car kit into an AC to 12v adaptor.I use the FM modulator and listen on a regular boom box or I use my headphones.

I remove everything except for my antenna from my truck everytime I get out-it takes less than 30 secs. We've had some scumbag breaking into our trucks and trashing them and stealing shit-so I'm not taking a chance with the one thing that makes my long workdays pleasurable. That deeply disturbed, dark corner of my mind would be opened up on that fuckface if he messed with my Sirius radio.

I feel you on all that I never leave my Starmate in the car overnight. I plan on doing the same thing, but I already have a Starmate Replay boombox so I just will plug the car kit into the Aux port in the front of the boombox and I could have one playing sirius radio and the other recording another station.
