My name is Ned, and I am a satellite radio addict.

I currently own and have active six satellite radios, including the XM Inno and very recently purchased Stilletto. I have had the Inno for approximately six months now. I have it mainly to be able to catch my Randi Rhodes on the Air America Radio, but also to be able to record songs and for Casey Kasem. No, I don't listen to those douchebags on 202.

It occurred to me that readers of this forum might be curious as to which radio is better. And I, my friends, and my horrendous addiction, we can today provide the answer: Hands down, the Stilletto is a superior piece of hardware to the XM Inno.

I have found the Inno frustrating because it is a handsome piece of equipment but it falls flat in several key areas where the Stilletto kicks its ass. For instance: The sound quality is sorely lacking in the Inno. I ride a subway to my job every day and found it difficult to listen to anything on the Inno without a headphone amp. I do not have this problem with der Stilletto. Also: The Inno does not have any facility whatsoever to hold your place in the middle of a listening session. The Stilletto performs this function AUTOMATICALLY. Smart, since a great number of its users probably made the purchase specifically to listen to a radio program that lasts five hours or longer. Navigability is a major issue with the Inno. It is next to impossible to find something you've recorded and to listen to it in any kind of order. I have given up pretty much on finding anything specifically and trying to listen to anything straight through, and my Inno is now relegated for the most part to acting as a shuffle player. Finally, the Tivo-like functions on the Inno are piss-poor compared to that of the Stilletto. The Inno allows you to schedule a recording for "Today," "Daily," or to set up a recording session for a specific date in the future. You cannot set something to record once a week, as you can with this magnificent device.

I only received my Stilletto yesterday, but as a hopeless addict to the satellite radio, I can attest to all SFN readers that the Stilletto kicks the Inno square in the butthole with a steel-toed boot to boot. In case you were wondering.

I got my SL100 last week and I'm shocked at how well it is performing. It's way better than I expected.
