I know there's a thread here where fans can request which classic E! shows you want to see on HTV but are they really going by requests? Sometimes they will put on some good past shows but much of the time they seem to air old shows that I find it hard to believe that many (if any) people would request.
There've been so many great interviews, games, girls, and moments through the years that have been on E! that would be awesome to see uncut and unedited. Yet so many of the choices they make on what to air makes me scratch my head in wonder sometimes. Some of the choices they make seem downright odd at this early point in the game. Is it just me or is this stuff shows that people really want to see? |

I agree. I realize everyone has different tastes in terms of which episodes they'd like to see, but some episode selections just seem really bizarre.
For example, it seems as though most of the T&A themed episodes that they put up are episodes with no nudity in them, thus it's pretty much the same as the E channel version.
There must be hundreds of nude chick sements from those E years, and while they have put up some of them, it seems the majority have been like the recent "Survivor Chick in a Bikini" episode. I'd prefer the the T&A episodes actually have something to uncensor. That's not to say that non-nude chick episodes are worthless it just seems like they're given prioroty over episodes with full nudity. |

They take all the worst E shows, put their names on a big board, throw a dart and BAM! whichever it lands on they show.
All jokes aside though, I can only think of 2 things.
1) They are trying to space out the good shows, so you dont get 1 month of good shows and then 3 months of bad ones. (unlikely, because imo there is plenty of great shows)
2) A complete moron is picking them, without any knowledge of the really great/classic E shows. (likely) |

Yeah, I don't get it either. Now they're able to show us what we couldn't see before uncensored and we just end up getting stuff that didn't even need to be censored in the first place. The "Survivor Chick in a Bikini" episode is a prime example of the kind of stuff that I don't understand why they would even air it over tons of other episodes they have. She's not a celeb, it wasn't particularly outrageous, she didn't get nude and there wasn't really anything we didn't see before. It just doesn't make sense to me.
Even when they do put on stuff a show with Tabitha Stevens they don't seem to put on her best or most outrageous appearances. She's done the shows many times have done plenty of shows where she did contests to see who would win a "date" with her or whatever but they seem to put on some her weakest appearances. The same thing happens with any "Wackpack" shows and some of the interviews they decide to air. They put on a Farrah Fawcett interview a few months ago that made no sense to air. Not only is Farrah's present career almost non-existent and she's not on anyone's radar, they didn't even air the best interview Howard did with her.
You'd think during the first year or so they'd throw the best stuff at us to get us excited and to lure people into signing up but after thinking about it they just seem to be putting on old E! shows that they don't have to re-edit or make changes to and just picking out random shows to toss on the channel. If they're going to bother with the old stuff it should be the best of the best. They've got a backlog of over a decade of shows to pull from. |

That's the other thing I don't get...I turn on HTV tonight and there's Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed first appearance together on again. I think they did a good appearance when they showed up the first time but...they just did the show again and it just aired a couple of weeks ago so why air the other show again now? Was that show such a highly watched show that it had to get on again so soon over so many of the shows they've done this year? I keeping thinking I must not be in tune to the shows that get the best response because the choices they make make no sense at all to me. |

While I agree that I have no idea how they are picking the old E! shows, I have to disagee with the notion that there are any bad E! shows. I watched (and recorded) every single show from 1994 to the end and out of all those shows there were maybe 5-10 that I didn't care for and wouldn't want to see again. All the others are definitely worthy of HTV and I hope one day to have seen them all air. I don't see how you can call yourself a fan and only like shows with nudity. Some of the greatest shows are HS interviewing celebrities because so few dare to enter his lair. He can make any guest fascinating. The shows that suck are not from E! but from Sirius when Richard and Sal just fuck around and be disgusting for the camera. Gina from Survivor was a good show. If you scanned through it to find nudity then A. you need help and B. you're not a fan.
They should just go through all the E! shows year-by-year (June 1994, July 1994, etc...) and start a new category, E! Shows. Have everything else under the category, Sirius Shows. |

Most people arent complaining about Gina becase she didnt get naked. It was just a boring show.
I agree that Howard is one of the best ever to interview real celebrities. But Gina from Survivor is not a real celebrity, she is a normal boring chick that got onto a reality TV show.
Also Im not sure if you listened to the radio show that day or not. But after Gina left they talked about how it was a waste to give her 3 thousand dollars. And how she wasnt ticklish so the tickle chair sucked. (Im not a huge tickle chair fan, but the whole point of the bit is to get the chick squirming around and laughing)
I do like your idea about going year to year on the E shows though, that would be cool. |

This is just absurd. In over 10 years there was never a bad show? This sounds more like a fawning sycophant than a fan. Of course there were bad episodes. Just like there have been bad Seinfeld episodes and crappy Simpsons episodes. Saying this doesn't make you not a fan.

Who said this? The point being made was that it seems as though there is a tendency to air mostly the T&A themed episodes from the E channel years that have nothing to really uncensor. That's not to say that the more tame episodeds are not worthy of air, just that the ratio seems a little off.

Well, of course you think it was a good show. You "disagree with the notion that there are any bad E! shows", thus any episode they air according to you is "good". Which is fine. Others however might have different tastes.
The basic point being mad is that, to some, the episode selection from the E! years seems a bit strange. Nothing more profound than that. |

As I said, there were several episodes from E! that I didn't enjoy and many from Sirius that I flat-out hate. Why am I a sycophant just because I like most of the E! shows? There were shows that I was surely going to hate like Flavor Flav because I have zero interest but Howard made his appearance funny. I thought it was entertaining that Gary and Howard were so horny to see Gina nude that they were willing to pay so much. John was rubbing so hard on her feet I thought he was going to start a fire. The show up now with Pam Anderson and Natalie is so annoying because that guy they brought in couldn't stay off the mike. Maybe I just have more patience when watching these shows for something to happen. Again, I've watched every second of every show so my opinion is informed. Every time another E! show appears, someone pops up and slams it for not being funny, or being boring. I seriously don't believe these shows are actually being watched in their entirety. I remember when Stern was hyping Crucified By The FCC and Butt Bongo Fiesto. Those both really blew. So did the New Year's Rottin' Eve. I've been a fan (not a sycophant) since 1981. |
