it all comes down to your cable company if they choose not to carry it it's their fault direct tv won't have it b/c htv has contract with ondemand which is owned by cable companies
softball31
yeah pretty dumb, but it's all about the money and the cable company markets.
m0tleyfan

everyone places blame with the cable companies for this Ondemand mess with HTV. even though they seem to be doing a shitty job with getting HTV to some areas of the country, ultimately it's HTV's fault.

a simple solution to the whole mess would be to set up an online HTV service so you could bypass the cable companies altogether if need be. they seem to be reluctant to do this though

lol, thats easy for you to say what about htv fans that don't have a computer??

Currently On Demand can't work on satellite because of technical restrictions. Firstly the bandwidth in satellite is tiny compared to a cable broadband connection.

Satellite is only a one way deal. The signal comes from the satellite in space, down to your dish. Nothing goes back up.

Now cable can go both ways. So you make a selection with your remote, it sends the request. Then uses all of the bandwith to send the signal to your TV.

This is a sorry excuse. So sattelite doesn't work like cable does, wah wah wah!! HTV could be a PPV service on Satellite. They could play different episodes over and over again. I could then record them onto my dvr. There it is, on my demand.

The truth is that the on demand service is exclusive to Cable. HTV made a big mistake by signing to an exclusive deal with on demand. They should have went with HBO or showtime. Oh well. I will keep on downloading whatever HTV is available on bittorrent.
