If you were Ted Nolan, coach of the Isles, what would you do when Ricky gets back and is 110% game ready???

I would send Dunham down to the minors...Start the franchise goalie Rick DiPietro and Dubie backs him up...

Dubie has been a rock between the pipes for the Isles when it looked like it was almost impossible for them to clinch the 8th playoff spot earning the 1st star of the week but DP has been solid all year and has emerged as one of the premier goalies in the league and not to mention the 15 year deal he signed...

Dubie or Dipietro....Sabres will still take the series, way to much from the Isles to handle.

But they gotta go with Dipietro. Get him the experience and maybe he'll steal a game or two along the way and at least make it somewhat of a close series. They just signed the guy to a 15 year deal, they'd be idiots to not play him.

Islanders' DiPietro says he's ready to go in Game 2

April 14, 2007

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) -- New York Islanders coach Ted Nolan all but confirmed that Rick DiPietro would be in goal for the Islanders in Game 2 of their playoff series against the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night.

"Once he says he's in, I say he's in, he's in," Nolan said after Saturday morning's pregame skate. "If he says he wants to play, he's going to play."

DiPietro, who missed the final seven games of the regular season and the first game of the playoffs with a concussion, said he's ready to play.

"I feel good, I did everything I normally would before a game," DiPietro said. "I'm ready to play, but it's Teddy's call."

DiPietro, the first overall pick in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, tied an Islanders record with 32 victories this season. He went 32-19-9 with a 2.56 goals-against average and a .919 save percentage.

DiPietro watched game 1 of the series from the press box as the Islanders dropped a 4-1 decision to the Sabres. Rookie Wade Dubielewicz, who won the final four games of the regular season to get the Islanders into the playoffs, made 31 saves against the Sabres.
