In order of preferrence:
1) US (I HATE when people are American and don't route for the USMNT first and foremost...front runnin' mother fuckers)
2) Germany (am of German ancestry, have German (not German-American) girlfriend..kinda unavoidable if I'd like to continue to get laid. :) )
3) Just about anyone but England. I am SOOO sick of the overhype job. They win a major tourney about once a century yet continually talk like they are on the top of the heap. Fuck em. |

It really is a slap in the face to Mexico who we own. That is all they had over us.
I like my old country Turkey as far as FIFA favorite after USA.
As far as style? No way Italy. I like Spain though they dissapoint WC after WC. France is really fun to watch, fluid. |

nah. Kaka and Ronaldhino both sat out. Pretty big guns to be missing. It's more like their B/B+ team (which is still more than enough to beat most) |

the Gold Cup final outdrew the Stanley Cup finals...on Spanish language TV alone. It doesn't even include the potential 30 million households who watched the English broadcast domestically.
Oh and the World Cup? Outdrew every final in every sport last year except for the Superbowl on English language broadcasting alone, and that is a month long tournament with tons of matches.
So yes, Americans "accualy" like "this shit" the old farts who are still entrenched in sports writing don't give it tons of ink unless it's Zidane headbutting, Beckham or hooliganism, but it's here to stay. If you look at papers around the country, more and more of the young writers are covering the game.
One example, The Soccer Insider on the Washington Posts website get more hits than any other sports team on their site with the exception of the Redskins.
If you watched a game with an open mind and with a friend who was knowledgeable and passionate about the beautiful game, it might give you a new appreciation for the WORLD'S sport. |

Aye we got Ukraine at Hampden and then Georgia away. Two tough games. Italy at Hampdon to finish. If we can win the next 2 then we won't need a result against the Italians, but it could come down to that match.
Scotland are now top of Group B ahead of both World Cup finalists. Incredible. Up the SCOTS! |
