| My S50 has been nothing but a pain ever since I got it. Replaced the antenna after 2 weeks because of the signal problem. |

I have been extremely disappointed with the S50. I mean, it works for the most part, but many bugs over the time I've had it. I really wanted it for the recording ability 'cause I don't like to miss any of the show (I don't commute in the morning). I got it the month before Howard started and I'm on my third one now. I managed to get my last replacement right before the warranty ran out.
Beacuse of these experiences, I'm VERY nervous about upgrading to the Stiletto. The S50 and the home dock are extremely fragile and cheesy, production-wise. Did Sirius put a little more "oomph" in the build of the Stiletto? Or does it feel like it will break every time you pick it up like the S50? |

I was very hesitant about switching from a S50 to a Stiletto 100. After my S50 crapped out (no signal issues) I went to Best Buy with extended warranty in hand and made an exchange. My wife bought my S50 when it was at it most expensive cost. So in exchange I got the Stiletto 100, a home dock, along with a $35 gift card. So far it has been awesome with no troubles. There are some minor things that are different in the Stiletto that you have to get used to. It is a tad bit bulkier than the S50 but the bonus is that you get a better battery cycle with the recorded material. I haven't really tried the live part of the unit because i've become used to listening to Howard on a one day delay. But the bonus for me is that not only do I get to listen to Howard's show, but also Bubba's, and the battery is still at half charged afterwards. I would make the switch SDMike. And I would also suggest getting the Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna from TSS-Radio. It seals the deal as far as reception issues you might have.
Feel free to ask me any questions because I feel like that the S50 worked awesome for over a year for me, started to break down, and I was also hesitant about making the switch. |

| Never use the shitbag home antennas they sell with home kits. Always use a car antenna, even if you have to buy it separate. |

They may have improved since the S50, but the home antennas that were sold with those home kits blew goats. I was always out playing with the direction, trying to get signal.
Upon some advice, I attached my car antenna and the unit damn near blew up from signal strength. The Dot Micro Antennas are omnidirectional, where those double brick home antennas can only get signal from where they are pointed.
The home antennas may have improved, but I don't care. I have a car antenna outside on a fence post and get great reception. |

| I cant say if it's your S50 or your antenna. my problem was the unit. I traded in my defective S50 for the Stiletto 100. if you really want a quality antenna buy the Sirius Outdoor Home Antenna that they have on TSS-Radio. |
