BTLS Meet N Greet T-shirt Idea??? - Click HERE to go to the original thread with graphics

Well as we all know, bubba has said that he's going to need some sponsors to man up in order to get some of the BTLS Meet N Greets done. Well i had abit of a great idea that could very well help with the financial part of making the Meet N Greets happen. How about making up a Bubba Army Meet N Greet only T-shirt. The NFC was a great idea, but with a huge flaw, one person uploads it to the net and all of a sudden it's free to 97% of the BTLS fans, well the ones that did'nt want to buy it off the Ebay at the time. Hell being from Western Canada it was about the only way i was going to get NFC.

Since Bubba stated that he's going to need some sponsors and basically $$$$ to make the meets happen, i got abit of a idea to help with this. Make a new Bubba Army meet N Greet T-shirt. On the front have 5inchx 5inch Bubba Army logo and then on the back have a listing of meet N greet location/dates, with the last location being the one they would be at, sort of like a concert T-shirt. Personally i love the idea of this and i'd wear it pretty often.

As for the how many to order, ect..... Well Bubba could put up a pre-order form and this way he would know how many to order for each Meet N Greet and then he just orders some more for the ppl that did'nt pre-order and should he have any left over he could just post them on the BTLS store and they would sell from there. This then would eliminate the Ebayers from selling them on ebay, well only if they did'nt all sell out. And it would get back to having a one of a kind type product that you could only get a the meet n greets.

As for the financial side of things, i think it could work out very nicely for Bubba. I'm just starting my own clothing company and i know abit about the prices for printing and such, well i bought all my own printing equipment, but i know what printing costs. Here is a minor breakdown of what could be gained from this T-shirt idea. Lets say Bubba takes about 600 pre-orders for T-shirts ( I have no idea what he sells at his meets but i'm just using loose numbers). Ok 600 shirts on pre-order and then order a extra 100 for the ppl who cant pre-pay or dont have credit cards. The said T-shirt would cost about $6-$7 each to make and if you charged $20 each your profit would be $14. $14 X 700= $9800. Now thats some good money to cover all your bills from the Meet N Greet, and it does'nt include any extra sponsors that would step up.

Now i know some ppl will have something smart to say about something, but please bring up all good/bad issues with this idea so it can be discussed. Yes ok maybe 700 shirts are abit many, but honestly ask yourself this, it's a one of a kinda item that wont be around again. I personally would buy one for myself, one to get the crew to sign, and maybe one for my better half. Hell if they had the pre-orders they could also do womens shirts and get a good idea of how well they sell. I know alot of women that listen to the show but wont wear any BTLS gear because it all geared towards guys. OK....... i know some lesbian somewhere is saying i own a lasker shirt, and that's cool. But your not really the group i was trying to get at. hehe. Another thing people might say is i'm not paying $20 for a shirt, well but you'll pay $25-28 for a concert shirt in which you'll never meet the group or have any stories about meeting the group. I'm from Vancouver Canada and yes that about $25 in are money once you do the exchange and i have no problems with it. Basically you have to remember that you are buying something that you wont be able to buy anywhere else, they would be limited to the meet n greet that would be printed on the back. Yes the Ebayers could still buy them up and sell them for more, but who cares, let them come out and buy up 30 shirts to sell on ebay. Bottom line is it would'nt be taking money out of bubba's pocket and everyones happy because the Meet N Greets don't have to stop and they will almost fund themselves.

Well thanks for reading into my little idea and i could only imagine that if enough people were intrested and made the fact known then hopefully the Meet N Greets won't have to stop. Also anyone in contact with NED, just let him know i got a HUGE bottle of Jack for him if he can talk the rest of the BTLS crew into coming to Vancouver, BC. Hell i'll still give it to him if he comes to Seattle or Calgary! haha. I'm just a BTLS mark that would love to see everything good come to the guys.

I'm not sure of the financials but it might work. You're assuming people will want to buy the normal amount of merchandise (for which Bubba keeps the profits) and, on top of that, buy even more merchandise which Bubba will spend on a meet and greet. I think there is a limit to how much stuff people will buy before feeling like they are being fleeced. I don't think I would buy a shirt but then again I wouldn't buy any of the stuff he sells (no offense to anyone - just one persons opinion). Again, I have no experience selling merchandise so maybe this will work. Good luck

Thanks for all the replys, but it was just a idea. And if it could help pay for Bubba do his Meet & Greets then i'm all for it. The shirt pic is cool, i was thinking more along the Bubba Army logo on the front, but it gives you a idea. Some ppl might wanna buy them, some might not, but having a pre-buy program really let you know before hand. And it gets the NFC sorta "exclusive to greets" thing out to people that come out and support the show.

thats a great idea

How about one that says: "I met Bubba and all I could afford was this lousy t-shirt"
j/k sounds like a good idea to me

It is an interesting idea.

I'm all for anything that could help get Bubba in a place I could go to a meet and greet, so any negativity I express towards the idea is just me playing devils advocate.

I don't think 700 people would pre-order a Calgary meet and greet T-shirt. I'm just being a realist.

So, lets say only 100 shirts get pre-ordered, and it doesn't finance a meet and greet. Then we have a shirt that is a joke on us, Bubba doesn't do the meet and greet but keeps all the money?

A lot of us have $100 worth of merch, or more, already (and paid a lot of shipping to get them here) and a lot of us have paid $100 for Bubba Raw.

I'm really trying not to be negative.... but....What happened to Meet and Greets being fan appreciation events? I've thought about ways that us fans could pay for the meet and greet - but I think we probably already have paid for a lot of it.

If he doesn't want to spend any money to come meet the fans, why should we bend over backwards to spend more of our hard earned money to have him come meet us?

I know this is all sounding a lot more negative than I want it too, but I think I'm being pretty honest about a lot of things.

So, yeah, the T-shirt idea is interesting and could help fund some of the money for a meet and greet. I don't think it would pay for it all though, but could help out.

Bubba has mentioned wanting sponsors. I'm not sure what business would put money out for travel and expenses to get Bubba here.

Maybe a club or bar that were a fan would donate a bit of money, and hope it would be returned in drinks or cover charge.

Maybe a business owned by a fan (like a hot shot service in an area where there are a lot of listeners, hint hint, Albanian Dude) or something like that, could co-sponsor it, and hope for on air mentions that would promote their business.

Maybe some of us die hard fans would want to pitch in a hundred or 2 into some kind of fund.

But for the fans to pay for the whole thing is asking a bit much in my eyes.

To me this is not a Calgary thing any more. If there was a point to be proven by Western Canadians, we more than proved it, and look where that got us.....

love to see pictures and hear about meet and greets and live broadcasts and things, I hope Bubba and crew do more meet and greets in the future, all over the place.

Oh, and 700 people buying $20 shirts would mean we'd pay $14,000 to help Bubba get up here with less money than we spent.

That might not be spending money in the best way. One fan buying $100 shirts could probably rather just put $65 into an account.

Maybe having jackets for the big spenders, so they don't have to buy a bunch of duplicate shirts to make a statement would put the money to better use.

I do think a club or bar putting up a couple of grand, a business doing the same, and some kind of fan fundraiser / shirt deal could probably do the same.

I'd hope $6000 or so from 3 different ways like that would be enough to make them do the trip. They could also make a lot of money on merchandise sales while up here, so I'd hope that wouldn't be too much to ask.

I think a lot of cities could pull something like that off.
IGOWFO
I believe Bubba would take a shit on that. I think he wants someone to pay his way and then make every dollar he can while he is there. Hell thats what it is all about though.

Honestly i would just hate to see the meets become just a cash grab. I mean without the fans, then a artists is nothing more then a name. I always thought that meet and greets were a great way to give back something back to the fans, and the T-shirt idea is just one way to help fund meets and bring a exclusive products to the meet and greets. OK yah he might not sell 700 shirts at one greet, but much like my own buisness I dont always get my money back for promotional events.

A club could easy fund it but the bottom line is you'll be paying a cover charge at the door and the fan really walks away with nothing. I'm sure a T-shirt idea and cover charge could easily pay the now 10k needed for a meet. Im sure something can get worked out but it really boils down to...... does it want to get worked out?

I agree, like i said the Bubba army logo would be the best idea. The main reason is to get extra $$$ for the greets to happen. Yah a club would be happy to pay bubba the 10k needed to bring him by, but your going to be paying a Approx. $20 cover at the door and you still go home with nothing. The shirt idea is the best "Greet Exclusive" item that could keep the meet and greets going and keep the fans happy.
