Hi all,
I have been a Bubba mark since his days on 104 in CT. While i don't post here a lot i do check in and Bubba and the crew are part of my day. Its time i look forward to and enjoy. While i don't always get to hear the whole show it's the one show i try to listen to the most. I I drive around for hours sometimes just to try to listen to most of the show. After listening to the show last week and hearing about the whole military treatment of funeral and such i started to write a story on my blog about my father-in-law's recient death. What i wrote was the mess that was his funeral. I thought it was something i should share with the crew and all of you. I'm not sure what the family will do on the issue but as all the fans and all the Crew on the show are part of my life daily thought this was something to share with you all.

I've been to many military burials at National/Veteran Cemetaries...and you get a choice...
A live Honor Guard Squad, which has to be scheduled for when there are multiple burials, so they can perform them all at once....( they will postpone your burial until then? )...or they will play a recording of Taps and 3 volleys of rifle fire....( A Gun is a cannon)...
It sucks no matter how you have it done...

They had the squad and had one of the guys play that on a horn at my grandfathers funeral. One of the saddest events ever.

It's sad to see military burials and grounds being treated like that. Especially when people protest..

I am a member of the Patriot Guard. I've rode in 13 funerals and am fortunate enough not to see any protesters. Not sure how I would handle seeing people protesting..

first kastor, let my express my sorrow for your lose. From what I understand the Military dose have a shortage of buglers. I am not saying this as a excuse , I am just saying that this is my understanding. either way they should have had a taped version of taps to be played. At least that has been the most common form that I have seen. As for the Honor Guard as Zeke said they should have postponed the burial until then. As for the Cemetery , you could file a complaint with on of your state reps. That would possibly be the best way to get quick action. Those photos saddened me, angered me and sickened me all at the same time.

I would contact the local news as well..

Oh my gosh kastor, those pictures are truly heart breaking! Im not a very wordy person as far as words go, but for our fallen to treated like that makes me sick. Please send those pictures to someone, anyone that can get it out there. Sorry about your loss kastor.

That is part of why i posted the link here. I think that the guys if they have time could say something or get the pics to the right people. i have to email them to local stuff but this was where i felt most comfortable starting to get the info out. The show has to be one of the best parts of my day and i wanted to share it here first. Thank you all for your kind words, it really means a lot.

To answer some of the questions no they did not even have a recording to play, the funeral director presented the Flag to my mother-in-law.

The closest office for the Honor Guard was about an hr away and no one is there on the weekends(funeral was on a Saturday)

The honor guard called the day before and confirmed all the info then when they were reached after the funeral said they had it down for the following weekend.

I think the biggest slap in the face was how the graves were around the dumpster, and that was not too bad but to see the flag in with it all was truly sad.

I fowarded all the info to the show email, if anyone can get it right to one of the guys that would be great.

Again thank you all for your kind words and support.
