Found this on the fucktard:

By Howard Kurtz
Washington Post Staff Writer
Saturday, January 10, 2004; Page C04

A longtime New York Times sportswriter who left to join the Indianapolis Star has resigned from his new job after admitting that he falsified his résumé.

Mike Freeman, who covered professional football and basketball and did investigative reporting at the Times, apologized for telling the Star that he was a graduate of the University of Delaware. He said he attended the school for four years but did not graduate.

"These were lies," Freeman, 37, said in a statement posted on the Web site SportsPages.com. He added: "This was a terrible and unforgivable manipulation of the facts. . . . It was the only time I have told such falsehoods and no other deceptions have ever appeared in any of my newspaper stories or two books at any time in my 16 years of practicing journalism. Nevertheless, the information I gave the Star was wrong and I will be punished with the loss of my newspaper career."

Star Editor Dennis Ryerson said in an interview yesterday that he had accepted the resignation, although this was "a bit awkward" because Freeman had not yet started his job as a columnist.

"The message is, he will not be working at the Star," he said. "I'm very sorry about the way it turned out." Ryerson added that a college degree is not required to work at the Star, and in fact, he does not have one.

Ryerson disclosed the news to readers through the paper's Web site yesterday afternoon.

Freeman worked for The Washington Post in 1988 and again from 1990 to 1992, covering pro football. He has also written for the Dallas Morning News and Boston Globe. Freeman is the author of "Bloody Sundays: Inside the Dazzling, Rough-and-Tumble World of the NFL," published last year, and the 2000 book "ESPN: The Uncensored History."

In July, he reported for the Times on allegations of academic misconduct involving Ohio State running back Maurice Clarett.

In his statement, Freeman said "there are no excuses or alibis" for misrepresenting his résumé. "This is my fault and my fault alone. Most of all, I have hurt and disappointed close friends and family, particularly my wife, and for this I am truly sorry. I also want to apologize to the Star."

It looks to me like Mr. Freeman hasn't learned anything from his resume escapade. More of the same. Im not surprised.

The old school boxing guys are running scared. They sound like grumpy old men. Fuck them, the DLH vs. Mayweather fight this weekend will be one of the last big boxing matches in the US. MMA is here to stay.

It's up to fans to get people to stop using the stupid term 'ultimate fighting' to describe the sport. It's not 'ultimate fighting', it's MMA. The best sport in the world.

How would you like to suck my balls Mike Freeman. You are a stupid fuck.

I kind of wanted to see it just because i wanted to see how bad it is compared to MMA, in my opinion. Looks like it went the full rounds and he walked off looking as ghetto if not more than Rampage puts on for the fights. love him though but i will say that it starts to seem like wrestling with the ghetto shit he sports but it could be done without. I like when a guy walks in kicks ass and walks out. one of the things i like about the iceman, hahahah floyd mayweather is a mess, hahaha

I think you may be referring to Crocop vs. Ibragim Magomedov at "Pride - Critical Countdown 2005". If you like liver shots i suggest you check out Bas Rutten vs. Jason Delucia at "Pancraese - Truth 6" in 1996. In the fight jason was telling the judge that bas was hitting him in the face with a closed fist, so Bas got pissed and took it out on his liver.

When you see Top level boxers doing what they do best...its hard to watch MMA "striking" again...it looks so sloppy and amateurish...sure the grappling is good and submissions, but outside of a couple guys like CroCop, Kharitonov, and Gomi the striking in MMA doesnt even compare

Nope not at all. I just don't care about it anymore. I'm 40 and I can't begin to even list the injustices I've witnessed in Boxing, Bad decision after Bad decision, Shitty bout after Shitty bout, I just don't follow it any more. NO personality at all............

Boxing is fine.....................if you are into that sort of thing.

hagler hearns is the last great fight I enjoyed.

This makes me laugh. the two can not be compared. To "strike" as you call it MUCH MUCH differently when the prospect of a foot upside the head it involved. Rampage Jackson's powerbomb of Carlos Arona was much sloppier than one's delivered by Kevin Nash in WCW and Kane of the WWE but that's a different discussion all together.

Did you stop watching after Hagler Hearns? Because that was in 86 and I can think of hundreds of great fights since then...if MMA is your prefence thats cool...Im a fan of both..Ive seen Pancrase from the start, UFC from the start, Pride from the start and just about every other group....I just despise MMA fans who feel the need to have to bash boxing. Or feel that nothing shady or any bad decisions happen in MMA. Cause I could write a book on the garbage ive seen since 93

I like MMA i just hate their fans sometime.

Obviuosly with the Judges score you don't know anything about boxing. First of all they were fighting for Oscar's belt. Tell me what Floyd did to take that belt?

Oscar controlled the fight. He had the harder punches and worked Floyd against the ropes throughout the whole fight.. Floyd took rounds 10 and 11. If he won round 12 then it would have been a draw.. Oscar won rd 12 so he won the fight and one judge was right on.

Now tell me this, if Floyd won without a doubt then why did it take a few seconds after the announcement for him and his corner to realize they won??
