I guess Capt didn't start a thread for this weekend's Cup race so here we go.

Babba'a main man Clint Bowyer had a great showing, dominated and won the Circuit City 250 Busch race in Richmond Va. Clint checked out at the final stages of the race and completed his 5th Busch series win. Be sure to vote for Clint at BTLS.com or http://www.nascar.com/promos/allstar/vote/login.html

For the cup series, Jeff Gordon is sitting on his third consecutive pole position, and 5th time in six races Jeff leads the points standings by 203 points. Followed by Carl Edwards, Scott Riggs, Jimmy Johnson and Kasey Kahne for the top 5 to start the race.

It is kind of hard to go against any of these picks, the only one I would change would be Biffle for JR.

Love RICHMOND!!

One of my top 3 fav tracks for sure.

I hope Richard Childress Racing dominates.

1. Jeff Burton
2. Kevin Harvick
3. Clint Bowyer
The Butler
My "A" drivers, Kenseth and Harvick qualified 27th and 28th. Not sure which one to start although I'm leaning towards Kenseth. Any tips?

Biffle normally does well at Richmond, and they are running the C.O.T. Gotta go with the strong Hendrick cars (they've won all the C.O.T. races so far this season), the strong Roush car, and a driver who has good history. Just my reasoning for not picking Junior.

Smoke has done fairly reasonable at the COT races, don't discount him.

You could probably flip a coin either way, if it was me I would say Kenseth, he is stronger up there in overall finishes and pionts. He would be a better odds on favorite.

I didn't discount him at all. He's the one that I said has a strong history at Richmond (and why he's in my picks at the top of the thread).

I think we may be watching the race tomorrow, 90% chance of rain tonight. I hope the forecast wrong, because there's nothing like Richmond at night. Back when the company I work for sponsored Dave Blaney we used to get tickets for every race. I was living outside of Philly at the time and I was approached about going to see the race in Richmond, I have been a fan ever since. Before then I went to a couple of Dover races prior, but I was never really hooked. I guess this is what short track racing under the lights will do to someone.

I really hate the COT.
catdr9155
You know, I never could understand why they spent all that money to develop a rain tire, and they will never use it?

I think they decided it would not be good to use on ovals. I'm not positive, but I think I remember them using the rain tire at an exposition road race in Japan years ago along with brake lights.

The new COT looks like a NOPI tuner car. The potential in the future is without limits.

They have the rain tires that they can use at the road courses, if indy can use them so can the Cup cars. Man up this is BS! Cummon NASCAR! / Cummon GoodYear! lets get a rain tire!

I seen a small one on the top of the hatch. Looked pretty nice and clean. Once we sell the house we want to get some wheels on it. It has 17's on it now and we want 18" with black and some shinny on them. :D

Man, I'm gonna have a sore remote finger after this afternoon. The race, Cavs, and Indians all on at the same time. And my right arm is already to fall off after trying to start my Mom's mower for 2 1/2 hours this morning. Good thing I can work the remote with my left. ;)
