According to Dave Scherer (PWInsider) it only did 2g paid ... damn that is horrid

- Hulk Hogan-Paul Wight match in Memphis did only about 2,000 paid, with lots of comps to make the building look better for VH1.

-That says a lot about the drawing power of a Hogan Appreciation tour. It also has killed any leverage that Hogan may have had with WWE. He has always wanted to be paid whatever the top guy on the PPV got and wasn't worth paying to be at Mania. Now, WWE has tangible proof to refer to.

he must have took a BATH on that thing..they had to pay to fly in all those guys, pay them to wrestle, etc..2k paid attendance sure isn't going to get it done..

The point of the event was to use Jerry Lawler's draw in Memphis to make Hogan look good in front of VH-1 & money marks that wanted to back a Hogan tour & TV show

Hogan was stupid ... he should have took the generous offer he was presented with for ONE night of work at WM23 IMO

hogan is far from stupid :D
ConanRulesNBC
Wrestlings not as big as it once was and most of the guys at the show haven't been stars since the '80s. But you have to figure that Hogan was mostly the only reason fans went and 2,000 fans going to see Hogan is still big especially without much advertising.

Exactly. Hogan slamming Big Show in front of 70,000 fans would have been absolutely huge. He keeps on saying how important slamming Andre was to his career why wouldn't he want to try and recreate that?

If he doesn't want to fake lose he should quit wrestling.

Hogan doesnt need to "recreate" his career he's done everything he wanted to. As for WM he doesnt want to put any more $ in Vinces pocket than he already has. Vince is a money/power hungry ego-maniac and has ruined wrestling. I hope he gets run over by a truck and tastes his own blood (Miss you Sam)
