Thankfully I'm parked for the night (Meridian, MS), and I'm only twelve miles from the Alabama line. I'm actually happy that I won't have to wait 24 hours to make my next pickup, but I gotta sit under the fucking thing for 24 hours because the customer will not allow me to deliver it any earlier than 7am Saturday, and I could be sitting there by late afternoon Friday. Oh well! I'm debating whether I wanna haul ass to Georgia with it and get comfortable there for the night and then drop it off first thing Saturday morning, or do I just wanna go as far as Montgomery and camp out there for a while. I'll probably end up sitting in Georgia (mostly because I absolutely hate being in Alabama) and minimize the amount of driving I'll have to do early in the morning. Decisions, decisions, decisions ... almost as bad as whether Scales wants to suck cock or tea bag someone ... :D |

When Howard left, my favorite station here (103.5/103.9 The Edge) flipped from "active" rock to classic rock. Since then I don't listen much to terrestrial radio and can't imagine life without Sirius now. There is too much stuff to listen to that I couldn't imagine canceling. I certainly hope Bubba sticks around after Howard leaves.
I suspect most of those people are full of shit anyway. |

I wont cancel mine. I had to go a couple days without Sirius a few weeks ago,,, I wanted to gouge out my eyeballs having to trudge thru all of the commercial music stations. |

You know I think Bubba will be right. Howard will be semi retired only come back for a few months a year and do the show, but still he will be involved some way shape or form with Sirius, and I would look for Howard to pass on the mic to Bubba to carry it on. |

It would make sense for Sirius to carry on with the Howard channels. Sirius is running out of buying power on the Stern name at the stores day by day.
Hard to imagine this great programming coming to an end. :( |

I don't see Bubba leaving at the same time Howard does. If the Howard channels are still around, I can see Bubba taking the morning slot and someone else coming in to do afternoons. It will probably be one channel (probably 100) dedicated to classic Howard, and another dedicated to live programming. |

Agreed because even without Howard and god forbid Bubba too music and the other selections are much better the regular radio. I never listen to regular radio anymore only sirius. |

I'm one of the early subscribers to Sirius (one of the first 600,000), so Howard hadn't even been considering a move to satellite radio at that time. I originally chose it because of the sports package (at that time, that was the selling point for both companies). In my line of work, I couldn't tell you how many times I've had to change the radio dial going coast-to-coast in hopes of finding something to listen to. I used to keep a list of radio stations in various municipalities that I enjoyed and the music genre that was played. Since I got my Sirius unit nearly three years ago, my only regret was that I hadn't gotten it sooner than I did because terrestrial radio just doesn't "get it". The only thing that is still broadcast on terrrestrial radio that I'd LOVE to have on satellite radio is Delilah. I LOVED listening to her show at night when I could pick it up on the dial. She was such a classy lady whose show revolved around requests and dedications -- usually love songs. Unfortunately, her particular format wouldn't transfer over well to the satellite radio market because much of her show is advertisement-driven. Anyway, I didn't get my Sirius subscription because of Howard or Bubba, and I will continue to have Sirius for as long as it is around, regardless of whether Howard or Bubba continue to broadcast (but I'm gonna enjoy the hell out of their shows while they're here). |

That is exactly why national radio hosts need to embrace satellite radio, especially those that have limited syndicated markets. Three of my favorite shows on Sirius are terrestrial. I can't understand why radio hosts would fight against satellite radio and not embrace the possibility of additional listeners.
Micheal (Weiner) Savage used to be on both Sirius and XM. At some point he said he wanted off the two services because he didn't want to be associated with personalties like Howard (and even trashed him in his book "Political Zoo") and O&A. He even supports FCC restrictions on satellite. It's easy to scoff at satellite when you're on stations all across the country, but for other broadcasters it makes sense to have a satellite audience. |

Once regular radio gets worse, a lot of these guys are going to be changing their minds about satellite. Look at Mancow. He trashes satellite radio every chance he gets, but if he gets fired, he'll be the first one talking to satellite. |

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised someone would think there is something shady here. Let me tell everyone something. I only got to do the sotb because Miller couldn't. BK had EVERYTHING ready. The entire list of questions neatly typed and handed over the night before. I had some other questions to throw in at the last minute and they were added to the list. Things went well, Bubba decided to keep me around.
Any minute Bubba can decide to end this will all of us. I know BK and I are both committed to doing as best of a job as possible so that doesn't happen. My ability to participate could end just as suddenly as it began. One of the ways WE can keep things going is having more and different questions. BK and I SHARE everything. This is not a Doug deal. Anything I get off of email or myspace goes into one big neatly typed list, same with BK. There is no ego here, no saving a "good question" in either of our back pockets to one up the other.

he said it's tough doing Thurs. night, then Fri morning. I know that feeling. I used to manage an ice skating rink on weekends. I'd Work Sat. from 4pm- 3am, sleep upstairs until 5am, then teach from 6am- noon Sunday.

Sounds like a plan, I have sent a couple e-mails to the show/25 cent/Spice to see if maybe I can get some thing going. But its just been falling on deaf ear/eyes. But oh well still going to hit all the Bubba spots and see how it is. |
