Wanderlai Silva has DESTROYED Rampage twice. And Shogun beat his ass too. I'd favor Rampage over Henderson.

Dana said that Chuck's next fight is against Wanderlai Silva, uh oh.

Great UFC card last night. Looks like Pride is gone and all the fighters are coming to the UFC..
MMA>Boxing... MMA is 1000X better then Boxing.. Anything can happen with 4oz. gloves

Great event. Crazy how many people were hynotized into the Liddell cult, I thought it was pretty obvious that this would be a tough fight for him. With all the PRIDE talent coming over we're going to see a lot more upsets. What a cool time in the best sport in the world, MMA.

wanderlei - possibly, although he's not quite the fighter he was 3 or 4 years ago. Would be a crazy entertaining fight though.

shogun - Definitely. That guy is amazing and Jackson's already lost to him once.

dan henderson - Definitely. Super talented fighter.

ricardo arona - No. Great on the ground but he lacks the standup. See what Quinton did to him last time they fought (it's on every Rampage highlight reel).

noguiera - 50/50. Also great on the ground with a good chin, but I wouldn't bet any money on him vs rampage.

sokoudjou - Who knows. He's too new to really draw any conclusions. His first two fights were definitely great, though.

They keep saying that Rampage is an excellent slammer, but everytime I see highlights of him it's always that big ass, WWE style powerbomb he did on that dude. Is there a youtube vid or something showing him performing other wicked slams on opponents?

It's a different story with the Pride influx of players. In my opinion chuck looks suddenly average. Guess it's a good thing Silva is not fighting anymore this year. So he says. Watching Fedor Vs Hunt on Pride Tivo Jones. Hunt tapped chicken wing jones

i think the chuck fight looked totally fixed. before he can get up, big john was on top of him. i don't understand the knock down rule, in boxing there is a count, in ufc they seem to not even give them a chance to recover. sorry it just seems like ufc is going the way of every other sport and imposing shitty rules to appease the bleeding hearts who say it is too violent. hello thats why we watch it, its getting so bad that by next year they won't even be allowed to hit or kick, they will only be allowed to insult each other. sorry for the rant

you cant have an 8 count with a ground game, that works with boxing because the fight stops when a fighter hits the ground

watch the fight again in slow motion, chuck's body goes limp

how many more punches should he have been allowed to take? 3? 6? 15?
neddlymandingo
When i first saw the knockdown i thought the stopage was rather quick too, but watching the replay the ref was tottally in the right.

Chuck got knocked down, then got several elbows/fists when he was on the ground. There was a point where you watched chuck go completely limp, knocked out cold. Then a second later rampage lands another fist on chucks head and the guy starts to come around again.

That's they way i saw it anyway. Didn't look like a fix to me, looked like Rampage was way more prepared then chuck.

all i'm saying is that these are supposed to be top conditioned athletes that can take a punch or two before they call the fight like they did the other night. plus a k.o. is different than a knock down and get up. and if you don't like my comments, go fuck yourself :)
dson
mma fighters are a sport, the fights occur to find a winner, not to satiate the bloodlust of the crowd

what is the benefit of a guy taking 10 extra punches when he has already lost

you "early stoppage omg " fans need to see some fights over in japan which showcase why safe stoppages are needed

it makes for better fights sometimes when the fighters come back, but its dangerous

see: why sakuraba might not get cleared to fight royce

http://www.dailymotion.com/relevanc...ba-vs-smirnovas - sakuraba comes back to win, but is probably braindamaged

yoshida is unable to stand after smashing his neck into the canvas after thompson pushes him out of the ring, the ref drags him out to the middle of the ring and lets thompson punch on him some more

These ARE the best fighting athletes in the world. MMA is a thousand times better then boxing and the MMA Refs are the best in the world. Liddell is on his back taking shots and his body goes limp. That's it, fights over. No need to have him beaten to death to amuse jerkoffs like yourself. You're probably one the the idiots that boos fighters.

If you want to see shit like that then move to Thailand..

Your comments don't mean shit, cause guys like you don't have the balls to train to fight.. You just sit your fat ass on the couch and run your cumcatcher thinking you could last 1min with Liddell..

Depends on how Royce is feeling. If he shows up in the condition he was in for the Matt Hughes fight he's done. If he fights at his best it will be a hell of a show. Can't say much about Sakuraba because I haven't seen any of his most recent fights, but if he still has what he used to he's a force.

Sucks that the event is being held in the US so it'll just be a standard 3x5min affair. I'd love to see a real rematch with unlimited 5min rounds and no ref stoppages.

Sakuraba has had some health issues, so he's a big question. But hopefully both guys fight their ass's off and leave it in the ring.
