sorry. after the All-star game weekend in vegas was totally soiled by nigge....pardon me..."hip hop" elements, the NBA has given serious reconsideration to a nevada franchise.
from what I hear, walking down the strip that weekend was akin to strolling the yard at a state pen. Restaurants closed their doors because of rampant dine and dash episodes...ugly altercations flared up all around...it was, in a word, a mess. Unless a checkpoint from south central LA to Vegas can be erected, the idea is doomed.

Sir the name has been changed to "South LA" now. It's no longer the "south central LA" of gangsta rap lore....it's much much worse. :D

dude, if you have been to ANY NBA All-Star game the last 3 years, the city it was in resembled the "hip hop element"... u really think every night a home game occurs in Las Vegas that it will resemble all star weekend?

no, but it certainly didn't get things off on a positive note - you have to agree with that

But it would be silly to NOT put a team in Vegas for that reason -- that is, if the NBA genuinely believes that Vegas is a viable market for a franchise. The All-Star Game was a one-time event. It's not going to be like that every time the Vegas NBA team plays a home game. That's ridiculous thinking and should not have any bearing on whether Vegas gets a team or not.
