He's suing the restaurant that served Hancock drinks, the tow truck company whose truck he crashed into, and the guy that called the tow truck.
His kid (the fucking guy was 29) decided to get trashed, speed, with weed in the car, while on the cell phone, not wearing a seatbelt...and it's everyone's fault but his? That's outrageous. |

| what the fuck happened to personal responsibility in this country???? if you go out to grab a drink and you plan to drive, only have A drink or two, or better yet none. if you get toasted and get behind the wheel, that's your fucking fault and you deserve what ever happens to you. i hope a judge laughs this out of court |

| I think personal responsibility is at the heart of this. His father somehow blames anyone and everyone but the son. Is it any surprise that he raised a kid who took the irresponsible actions Hancock took? |

| Your kid gets drunk and decides to drive and luckily he didn't kill anybody else so you sue everybody wtf. |

It is amazing to me how this case did not get thrown right out. How can he sue the tow truck driver and the guy who's car whose car stalled out, who his idiot drunk son hit??? Why doesn't he also sue the cell phone maker, the cell phone provider, and the person who his alky son was talking to at the time of the crash too?? |

| I can maybe see suing the tow truck driver if he's supposed to put flares out (I don't know the law on that), but suing the guy whose car stalled is insane. |

unbelieveable....
they should throw the case out & the judge should charge the father $$ for wasting the courts time |

| Unbelievable. I sure hope they make him pay all the damn court costs for this. No fucking way this has any legs whatsoever |

I like this quote:
"It's understood that for the entire 3 1/2 hours that Josh Hancock was there that he was handed drinks ... It's our understanding that from the moment Josh Hancock entered Mike Shannon's that night that he was never without a drink."
It's a FUCKING BAR! |

This is my favorite quote: "Why weren't flares put out? Why was the tow truck there for an exorbitant amount of time?"
A friend of mine got a DUI a few years ago one night after he ran into the back of a semi on the highway. I smell lawsuit against the trucking company. I mean what the fuck was that truck doing on the road so long?
I'm sure if his son was in the car that broke down or was the tow truck driver and somone else did the same thing but killed him, he'd be looking at this a whole lot differently. He must be getting advice from Jackie Chiles.

Supposedly, the tow truck had been helping for about eight minutes before Hancock came careening down the road.
And not only that, he was a passerby who offered help. |

Uh no, FUCK YOU.
You condone a shit head driving while intoxicated while talking on a cellphone and nearly killing a guy who is stalled and the person trying to help him out?
kill yourself. :suicide:
Hancock's dad is really looking like an asshole here. His son fucked up. Man up to the mistakes buddy. It's gotta suck to lose your son but don't further soil his name with this shit.
Though I now see where his son got his shit values from. |

| These defendants better not settle. In fact, after the case is thrown out, they should file counter-suits against Josh Hancock's daddy. |

This is an unfortunate situation. The father may have a case against the restaurant and the bartender.
However, the fact that the father sued the tow truck company and the guy having his car towed should make it crystal clear why so many people despise attorneys. |

| The guy was a known alcoholic around town. He had just gotten in an accident a few weeks earlier. When he drove his car into the tow truck he was on his cellphone with a woman telling her that he was on his way to another bar. While there is a certain amount of liability that comes with a bar, they can't expect a bartender to make sure everyone in a dimly lit bar is okay to drive. I believe a cab was offered to him and he turned it down. Plus, when a pitcher on the hometown baseball team is in your bar, it's a little more difficult to cut him off, especially when the guy is a regular there. His father should have helped his son before he killed himself, not after. |
