Wow, I didn't believe it until I saw it myself. She got released but is under house arrest for 40 days.
I haven't heard what the "medical condition" is that prompted her release. They said the hot dog she was served for dinner last night "didn't agree with her."
It's good that she wasn't in one of the jails in Maricopa County (Arizona). Sheriff Joe Arpaio likes to brag about the mouldy baloney he makes the inmates eat. |

If a payoff was indeed accepted than it would be California or a representative of California that took it. So Paris ate a weiner, got the shits, a judge got a new inground pool and she is doing 40 days house arrest at a house that is probably bigger than Rhode Island. I really don't give a shit. The system is rigged and broken and no one gives a fuck. This country has 300 million people and how many people watch cable news programs? I would venture that those that do, are at least rudimentary aware of how fucked up things are. It's a tiny fucking percentage of people who pay attention to politics and how our "leaders" fuck us, well and hard, every day.

| As much as I dislike Paris Hilton and what she represents for young girls in America, the initial ruling was harsh to begin with. Most people who get arrested for first-offense DUI get a fine and do community service at most. The judge in this case decided to make an example out of her. That being said, she should have been forced serve out whatever time she was given. The legal system actually managed to fuck this case up twice. |

This morning I turned on the TV and Matt Lauer had the NBC legal "expert" and the guy who runz TMZ.com that broke the story yelling 'WHAT KIND OF MESSAGE DOES THIS SEND!!!! They were all so outraged you would think she was a murderer. People didnt get this upset when Robert Blake went free and he killed someone.
This entire subject should be stickied to the top of every WGAS forum on the internet and anyone that does give a shit should be spayed or neutered to keep them from reproducing another generation of idiots whose lives revolve around what some person they are jealous of did today.
3500 Americans have died in Iraq, the Senate shitcanned the immigration bill that noone wanted, they found the asswhipe that killed the girl in Kansas and all anyone will be able to talk about on the "news" tonight will be some ditz heiress/amatuer porn star who got out of jail after serving about the same amount of time any of us would for the crime she was convicted of. and how "unfair' it is.
Its like the whole world has turned into Perez (the polesmoking asswhipe) Hilton.

Ive never had a problem talking about myself, so I wouldnt just talk about a "friend" unless it happened to be one. And yeah that was her 2nd DUI and then went to jail for 6 months.
And sorry, I dont happen to like it when rich people buy the system. I know you think this is about celebrity - I dont. I see it as another way the rich in this country can buy their way out of anything. Whoever signed the papers releasing her now has a couple hundred thousand dollars if not more added to their bank account. And this is a high profile case. How much easier would it have been if it was just some other rich fucking brat who had parents that could buy the system? Is it something thats obvious? That rich people can buy their own justice? Sure...but complete apathy over the situation certainly doesnt help. |

Considering that in my neck of the woods, A guy received a six month work furlough sentence for misdemeanor vehicular homicide* - he deliberately ran over with his pickup truck an acquaintance of mine who was on his motorcycle - this doesn't surprise me in the least.
*extenuating circumstances - it was the drivers first offense, the driver and my riding buddy exchanged obscenities when my guy shared the lane up to the front of the traffic lane.
Exchange "fuck yous!" with a driver, pay with your life. No biggie. |

| The judge at sentencing specifically prohibited house arrest. The sheriff, without authority, took it upon himself to release her. He ought to be told someone is serving the remainder of her sentence, either him or her. |

| i thought about this. she probably causedthe teh jail to use too many resources. they are over crowded and its full of mexican mob members ..i know some people who were on house arrest for DUI's . it makes sence regardless. in prison you have rights and you have the right to be secure in your person. so if anything were to happen. her family would sue sue sue overburding an already overburdened system. financially it was a smart move . |

She was given a 45 day sentence for violating her probation from a previous reckless driving charge by once again driving a car whlle her license was suspended.
