I was planning on skipping this one because they have really been squeezing the cash out of me with all these events lately, but the closer it gets I am thinking i will still order it....

LOL

I guess I'm a junky too. :o

Look for the link before the fight starts. If you go into General Chat, Zolar or someone else will respond to your email to them with a link. You have to have WinAmp, then you paste the link he gives you into the URL bar on the WinAmp player.

Boom, free UFC.
MC900footjesus
Still undecided on whether to order it or not. The card is weak on names but looks to be pretty strong on matchups. Admittedly I am not a big Rich Franklin fan but I can definitely see Yushin Okami giving him some troubles. Okami appears to be the real deal.

Griffin vs. Guida could be fight of the night. My only complaint is the Forrest Griffin vs Hector Ramirez fight. Not a real good matchup for the second biggest fight on the card.
Jackie's Career
Wouldn't mind seeing Okami win this one but I have to admit, deep down I don't give a shit. I more psyched to see Ultimate Fighter finale next Saturday. I want BJ Penn to whoop Pulver's ass. But, yeah, UFC 74 and 75 are can't miss.

I like Franklin, but I think Okami will give him problems.

I want Penn to win also, but I haven't been impressed with his last few fights. I hope he shows up ready to roll.

What am I talking to VacatetheTruth? Do you have a reading comprehension problem?

Just fucking with you bro, yup, enjoy.

BTW, when's the next AssBoil Insult Amnesty day? Once a year isn't enough.
Reverend Tyler
Zolar isnt online...He may not have known it was starting so early...Plus the winamp link that was posted apparently crashed
Stickman
Check closer to start time.
Reverend Tyler
it already started...The first fight is on right now
Reverend Tyler
Its from Northern Ireland, so it has an early start time
Reverend Tyler

Thank you, Rev!
Reverend Tyler
evilbob posted it in gen chat, so I cant take credit, just thought Id make it more visible :)

I think I was right on fight of the night...amazing battle..I think Guida takes it
Reverend Tyler
WOW!

I disagree but that was a great fight, and needs a rematch. The lightweight class is so fucking stacked in the UFC right now

LOL, you're right! I dish out enough I should really have one a month to let everyone catch up!
Reverend Tyler
Forrest Griffin is always exciting to watch
Ass Boil
I must be retarded. I plugged the URL into winamp and I see nothing.
Reverend Tyler
no ... click on the link and it will download a file for you...then open the file with winamp
Ass Boil
10-4 good buddy. trying that now.
Reverend Tyler
did it work for you?
Ass Boil
No, it's taking forever.

I clicked on the link and the progress bar is not even half way after all this time..... maybe there is a bunch of people using it?
Reverend Tyler
yeah probably :(
Ass Boil
And this is no slow computer, either. And we have DSL....

I dunno. I'll let it go and see what happens.
Reverend Tyler
Either way you can always torrent it later on tonight or tomorrow
Ass Boil
Good point. That's probably what I'll do. I'm trying to pull some electrical lines for my wife's new whirlpool tub she had to have right now anyway....

Thanks anyway, Rev

I can't get it....Rev T, without giving away any spoilers can you tell us if the fights were good/competitive...? If its no better than the last one, I'll hold off paying the $40....

...but on paper, I actually liked the matchups...
Reverend Tyler
Well its not worth the $40, no...There were some good decent fights, and its worth watching...but it was originally supposed to be free on HBO, so they didnt exactly go all out on the card.

73, 74 and 75 are amazingly jampacked with top-notch fights

Thanks man. I'll probably just save my ammo for 73...

I'll get my fix with the free Penn v. Pulver fight coming up...I think Penn is one of the greatest ever, but I'm rooting for Pulver!!! He was the better dude/coach on the show...!
Reverend Tyler
BJ Penn is my all-time favorite fighter, so I will definitely be rooting for him.

Wow, Id love to see UFC hook up with HBO. It might convince me to keep it after the Sopranos.

I love Curb Your Enthusiasm, so I'll keep HBO regardless.
Ass Boil
Yeah, I was disappointed they didn't do that this time. But maybe they are saving the HBO debut for a better card?

I was impressed with Pulver's coaching on the show, but Penn is one of my favorites, too. Rev was telling me he offers alot of info for free on his website and really does give back alot to the MMA world, even if he wasn't the best coach on TUF...

I hope BJ gets back on track against Pulver this time.

AB and RT,

True, true. Penn is an incredible fighter, and a good dude too. I just can't help going for the underdog in this one, especially since he was such a good guy on the show...but its probably 55% to 45%...I just want/expect an epic throw-down!!!

You can find free video of BJ on youtube teaching techniques...

...you can find more with a little searching...

I rooted for him like a madman vs. Hughes.....but GSP is my boy!...so I rooted against Penn slightly in that epic battle...but was giddy from how good the fight was.
Reverend Tyler
Yeah those were originally posted on his website.

And the HBO deal was supposed to go through but the main guy pushing for it on HBO's side just got fired for trying to choke his wife to death in public. The guys in charge of HBO Sports aer Boxing afficionados - and so of course they dont think that martial arts exists and all the UFC has are untalented barroom brawlers. So who knows what will happen now...
Ass Boil
What a douche. Did he put her in a triangle choke?

I was mistaken about the matchups...since I decided I wasn't going to buy it, I went and looked at the results...I must have mixed the lineup with some upcoming shows...

Thank god for this thread...I probably would have dropped the $40 and then been pissed...
Ass Boil
Yeah, no "must see" bouts this time..... I am glad I skipped this one. The next few events look solid, though.

Damn, I missed this one due to a "pre Father's Day" warmup... Is it worth the download?

It didn't sound like it was, mb.... I order every one of these and I skipped this one. It was only 2 weeks ago I paid for UFC71 and then they put up a very weak 72 card. I read the breakdown of all the fights and it didn't sound like any of them were all that great. The next 3 UFCs look pretty good though.

Thanks.. downloading via torrents here is dog slow, so a 1.3Gb download of UFC72 takes forever.

Looking forward to the next events!

Cheick Kongo vs Cro Cop UFC 75... Can Cro Cop come back physically and mentally after that big time KO? Sure hope so...
Ass Boil
I think he does. The Cro Cop in the Gonzaga fight didn't fight like the Cro Cop I have watched in so many other fights. Unless the format change was enough to throw him off that much...

All the fights will be on Dailymotion.com either later today or tomorrow if they aren't already. The fights are woorth watching, it just wasnt very good for a Pay Per View...but take a look at whats coming...

UFC73-Stacked

-Anderson Silva (#2 Middleweight in the World)* vs. Nathan Marquardt (#7 Middleweight in the World)*
-Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (#2 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Heath Herring
-Tito Ortiz (#9 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Rashad Evans
-Sean Sherk (#10 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Hermes Franca
-Kenny Florian vs. Alvin Robinson

and then even the undercard has matches Id love to see, the main one being Frankie Edgar vs Mark Bocek...but also Stephan Bonnar, Drew Ficket and Chris Lytle are fighting too...

UFC74
-Randy Couture (#5 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Gabriel Gonzaga (#6 Heavyweight in the World)*
-Georges St. Pierre (#2 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Josh Koscheck (#4 Welterweight in the World)*
-Hayato "Mach" Sakurai (#2 Lightweight in the World)* vs. Diego Sanchez (#7 Welterweight in the World)*
-Joe Stevenson vs. Kurt Pellegrino

And TIm Slvia is fighting, originally supposed to be against Frank Mir but that seems off the table...Id like to see him fight maybe Fabricio Werdum

UFC75
-Quinton Jackson (#2 Light Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Dan Henderson (#4 Light Heavyweight in the World)*
-Mirko Cro Cop (#3 Heavyweight in the World)* vs. Cheick Kongo
-Michael Bisping vs. Matt Hamill
Jackie's Career

UFC 72 wasn't so bad. Not worth 40 bucks, but are any of them really? Only the main event was a disappointment, but that makes two in a row after Lidell/Jackson. I really think non-title bouts should be extended to four rounds.

p.s.

Rev, where u finding those rankings at?

How in the hell did Herring get a fight with Noguiera after the way he fought against O'Brien? He sucks.

That Franca v. Sherk fight should be a good one.

I don't think Koschek is ready for someone like GSP, but with his wrestling he is in every fight.

I thought Werdum was better than what he showed against Arlovski. He was unimpressive.

That Henderson v. Jackson fight will be good. I think Jackson has to be the underdog in that matchup.

Lots of good bouts to look forward to!

Thanks Rev!
Reverend Tyler
The rankings are from MMAWeekly, they arent official or anything.

And Herring is much, much better than that OBrien fight. MUCH better. They'vew already fought twice, and while Nogueira won both, they were both excellent fights.

Herring-Nogueira I

The 1st Rematch

This is going to be a great fight. The Anaconda choke Nogueira pulled off in the rematch was just beautiful.

RT,

Thanx....watched it all except most of the Franklin fight wasn't up yet...

Except for the whack decision, that Clay Guida vs. Tyson Griffin fight was awesome.

The Irish crowd was amazing too.

I will take your word for it.

He is one of those guys who I always knew of, but never happened to catch one of his fights until that O'Brien fight, so you can understand my skepticism. The fight part I can understand - everyone has a bad day, but I really hated him for whining like a bitch about it and blaming O'Brien after the fight. Like it was O'Brien's fault he has no takedown defense whatsoever. I was yelling at the TV when he was saying that dumb shit.... LOL

I'm going to actually BE at UFC73 in Sacramento. I heard Ferrall says he's going to be there too to do a radio show. SHA-SHA-SHA-SHA-SHAKE IT UUUUUUUUP!
