There is a way to reset your battery on the ipod. Mine would lock up and i found a way to reset the battery by searching online. Once i did that, my ipod worked fine. Just google resetting ipod

Yeah, there's a full reset key combo.
I had to do that the when I first got mine. This was a few years ago and it's been fine since.
It's up on the Apple support site.
But really, Bubba's iPod is old and the battery may have gone bad.

1. Check that your hold switch is off by sliding the switch away from the headphone jack.
2. Press and hold the following combination of buttons buttons simultaneously for approximately 10 seconds to reset the iPod.
* iPod 1G to 3G: "Menu" and "Play/Pause"
* iPod 4G+ (includes Photo, Nano, Video, and Mini): "Menu" and "Select" |

I use a SanDisk Sansa 280, never have a problem with lockups or the battery, but if the battery ever does have a problem it's user replaceable. Ipod = over hyped crap.

The best way to fix an IPOD is to bounce it of the wall into the garbage. I hate apple products. Of course thats just my opinon.

Apple sell the must overrated, overpriced, pieces of junk on the planet. I mean for the price of an 80 gig Ipod you can buy a fucking external hardrive with a 1000 gig on the bitch. My own mp3 player is about the size of the new shuffle but twice ticker it cost me 50$ buck CAD. It has a 500 meg of internal memory but guess what I got a external SD card slot so I put a 2gig SD card on the bitch and now I have a 2.5 gig mp3 player for half the price of a 1 gig Ipod shuffle.
