| I like BJ at 155, but you heard him, he is gunning for 170. He wants another shot at Hughes.. |
|
|
| brokenspine |
| Yeah I hope he goes up to 170 just to destroy hughes A.K.A cocksucker then drops back to 155. Thats the best division for him i think but what do I know. |

| The way he fought tonite he would kill at 155. I totally underrated the guy. Must be more $$ in the heavier weight classes. Penn vs. Hughes 3 would be huge. |

BJ wanting to go to 170lb has nothing to do with money and a whole lot to do with the fact BJ doesn't like training to stay at 150lb.
BJ is probably the most naturally talented fighter in the world but he is equally lazy at his training. The 155lb weight class forces BJ to do cardio to get down from the flabby 180lbs he walks around at.
155lb BJ Penn = Legend
170lb BJ Penn = just another fighter |

Nah, you're just bitter that one of your guys got beat. (understandably)
In 2005 at 185lbs BJ won a decision against my guy Renzo. He has the talent to be a serious threat at any weight under 200lbs. He does have a tendecy to be lazy, though. Hopefully that's behind him with his new training regimine. |

| BJ was in the best shape of his career and I believe he could dominate 155. He was not winded through the fight and the way he moves at this weight is phenomenal. |

| Obviously, BJ looked incredibly solid last night, 'toying' with Pulver until he decided to finish him. Even though Pulver had beaten him previously, with BJ's new conditioning and motivation to destroy Pulver, it was sort of a mismatch (in retrospect). I think that if BJ keeps himself in this kind of shape and stays motivated, he will give anyone in the 170 lb. class a run for their money, but it's not going to be nearly as easy as Pulver was last night. Too much strength and talent at 170, and I still question BJ's ability to keep the cardio up. |

BJ in shape can beat anyone under 205.
Weed smoking, lazy BJ can still beat most fighters.
I think Hughes will beat Serra even though I am pulling for Serra.
This will set up Hughes/Penn 3 and I think BJ will win. |

I'm starting to wonder how much of UFC is a work. Doug Evans was doing good and then just layed there and let Roger get the win. Then during Lauzon Vs. Melendez, Joe had his back for a while, with about 2:50 left in the round it looked like Joe whispered something in Brandon's ear, Brandon appeared to be listening, then Brandon nodded yes and then they stood up. WTF? If you have it on DVR go back and look.
Maynard Vs Emerson. Not a work, but probably a bad call. Did Gray look unconsious to you guys? He was obviously hurt, but did he look knocked out?
Where was Big John? He is definitely the best in the business. Steve Mazzagatti is a fucking tool constantly one bad call after another, bullshit warnings, and bullshit threats for point deductions. I wish Dana would fire his ass, he doesn't belong in the UFC. |

I'm in no way bitter and not sure how you got that from a post in which I call BJ a legend at 155lbs. BJ is easily the most naturally talented fighter in the world but he is admittedly lazy when it comes to training and when he is lazy in training he weighs 170+lbs. BJ's frame without a solid 2 years of lifting won't be "in shape" at 170lbs thus leaving him at a disadvantage against fighters who are shredded at 170lbs.
If BJ is in shape he weighs 155lbs that's just his frame and while I agree that he can win matches at higher weights (most good fighters can) he just won't be dominant in higher weight classes.
By the way BJ vs Renzo is a moot point as they are both BJJ fighters and BJJ takes weight/strength out of the equation.
Also if BJ has the talent to be a serious threat at any weight under 200lbs why the fuck does he have such a shitty record at any weight class over 155lbs? |

Ok, this may be a dumb question, but theres no 145 class is there? If not, then what the hell was Pulver talking about saying he was gonna drop down to 145.
And I'm so pissed Manny messed his shoulder up. I was hoping hed destroy Diaz. Not that I dislike Diaz, but I've been a fan of Manny all season. I thought Sherk was built like a tank, Manny makes him look small. |

WEC another org owned by ZUFFA has a 145lb weight class which would suit Pulver much better in regards to matching up favorably with other fighters.
It's also no impossible that we will see extra weight classes in bigger orgs because some guys like Pulver, Diaz, Gomi etc just don't fit into the current UFC weight classes. |

| yeah it was disappointing that manny fucked his shoulder up he definetly would have one that match...im glad bj chocked that lil devil cocksucker out and held it for a few extra seconds :D |

OK, I guess I misread and assumed you were pissed about Pulver's loss. No biggie, sorry.
I think we basically are agreeing here, I'm just saying that even a fat and lazy BJ Penn is still a force just based on raw talent. I also agree that it's probably a good idea for him to stay at 155 and not move up if he wants to be a champion. Still, though, fighting Renzo Gracie (unlike most of the Gracies he is not just a pure BJJ fighter) for three rounds at 185 and WINNING is a huge accomplishment and shows even when he isn't in great shape he's still world class. |

No big deal.
BJ Penn is incredible and fun to watch much like Michael Jordan but how much fun would Jordan have been to watch if he was trying to prove how big his cock was by playing Center? |

Thanks. Looks like Monsta still needs some work. I hope he keeps training as he seems to have some potential. |
