This is too bad because he was on at noon and I listened to him. Now that he is on in mornings I will only listen to him on Fridays and maybe during Stern's Vacation time.

Today will be his last show in the afternoon. He will move to mornings on July 9th and will be off up until that time after today.

I love Sid.

But the over/under on him doing mornings is about 3 months.

He cant live the getting up at 5am lifestyle while being sober..IMPOSSIBLE!

I have heard that Joe Rose might go to WQAM in mornings, but nothing is confirmed yet. Also, I heard 790 said he would do middays, so that is confusing.

KOAW made a point about Sid not being able to handle mornings because of his past addictions. It seems like Sid is getting his life back together, but he tends to say a lot of stupid things that could cost him his job eventually.

I tend to believe what Neil Rogers says and he said Joe is coming to back to WQAM to take over the morning shift. Also the people that own the radio station from where 790 broadcast are selling it, since 790 only leases it and they don't own it out right, so in 6months to 1 year 790 won't be around anymore

Wow that is interesting information about 790 possibly going out of business. That is too bad because I have listened to that station at times and I like Sid, Boog, and Leby too. I have not listened to QAM much, but I did listen to Ed Kaplan. I thought he was decent.

I thought that was a strange move on 790 to move a highly successful show like Joe Rose and move him to middays, which is a hard shift to attract big ratings. Sid doing mornings is not a bad move because he is more than just a sports talk show host. Only time will tell.

When I listen to a radio show I kind of don't care what the personality looks like. I don't look at guys that way. I care more about if they entertain me. Just sayin!!!!!!!

And Hank is extremely entertaining and knowledgable.

But we begin with big changes on local sports-talk radio. 790 The Ticket is moving Sid Rosenberg to mornings (5:30 to 9), beginning July 9, as it prepares for the expected departure of Joe Rose. Rose's agent, Ralph Stringer, said Rose has decided not to renew his contract with The Ticket, which expires Aug. 31.

Beginning Sept. 1, Rose will be free to join WQAM, where he is expected to replace Kenny Walker and Kim Bokamper on the morning show. In the meantime, Rose has been reassigned to the 9 a.m.-to-noon slot on The Ticket, beginning July 9, until his contract expires.

Ticket president Joel Feinberg said Rose has not told him he's leaving, but ``he's given me no indication he wants to stay. He wouldn't respond to an offer to stay in morning drive or an offer to do middays. He would be stupid to go back to a station that treated him like garbage for so many years.''

But The Ticket's offer for Rose to keep his current time slot is off the table. (Rosenberg signed a four-year contract to do mornings.) Feinberg said he has offered Rose the same money to work 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Ticket, which has a marketing partnership with The Miami Herald, won't set a permanent lineup until Feinberg is certain Rose is leaving. Through late August, The Ticket will use several hosts between noon and 4 p.m. Jon Sciambi's show will begin at noon, but the length of the program is undetermined.

Dan Le Batard and 790 general manager Jon Weiner will remain in the 4 p.m.-to-7 p.m. slot, but their show might expand in September or sooner, Feinberg said.

Rosenberg's show will expand an hour (from 5:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.) beginning in September. Jason Jackson is a strong candidate to get his own weekday show beginning in September, unless Rose surprisingly changes his mind and stays at 790. Jeff DeForrest, who does a show from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m., will be reassigned to a Saturday program and fill-in work.

So why make the move with Rosenberg now, before Rose's contract expires? Feinberg doesn't want to be left unprepared in September.

''Sid is a big name here,'' said Feinberg, who wants Rosenberg to work alone. ``He does a great show. I think he could beat anybody in morning drive. I'm not going to sit there and let my success hinge on a guy waiting to see what else is out there.''

Rose didn't comment this week, but said previously that if he leaves for WQAM, the Dolphins would permit him to join Jimmy Cefalo and Jim Mandich on the team's broadcasts, if he chooses. ''I would think he wants to do it,'' Stringer said, adding the Dolphins haven't set a deadline for Rose to accept.

WQAM -- which isn't permitted to negotiate with Rose until Sept. 1 -- declined to comment, as did the Dolphins. Bokamper, who stands to lose his morning gig to Rose, is expected to be offered other roles on WQAM, including Dolphins pregame programs and fill-in talk shows. Walker isn't expected to remain on WQAM but could land a job on one of WQAM's FM sister stations.

Thanks for the info. I saw that The Florida Panthers have concluded with QAM, so maybe 790 gets them.

WFAN is having a 20 year reunion with several of their former hosts and current ones. Rumor has it that Sid will join Somers and Beningo when they do a 9pm-2am show on Sat night. At least Sid was hinting that he would be on.

Also the Marlins are done with WQAM after this baseball season is over, that was in the contract to get the Dolphins back. You forget that WIOD might pick up both teams also

You would think that if 790 lost The Dolphins that they should get The Panthers and/or Marlins if they want to be a serious sports station. The stations that carry some local sports usually have a better chance in the ratings. However, The Dolphins rule South Florida as far as professional sports goes, so that is a big loss for 790.

I heard Sid wil be on 530am-9, but when September comes he will go til 10. I guess that is when Joe Rose bolts to WQAM.
