Which regular unit-not stiletto type.
Or is there already a thread for this?

OK
How about the starmate 4 vs the sportster 4?
Any opinions on these?
Is the sportster worth the extra cash? |

There are two things that the Sportster 4 has that the Starmate 4 doesn't. A larger screen and a channel knob. If these appeal to you go with the Sportster 4. If not, save your money and go with the Starmate 4.
Also the fit and finish is a bit better with the Sportster 4. |

Same as far as durability?
I am wondering if your package deal on the sportster4 is any different than dogstar's.

Is this a good unit and have there been reliability complaints that you know of.
If you have any suggestions for me that would be great.
I am looking for an indoor unit for occasional auto use. I think the stiletto would be too flimsy-and I don't want to spend that much.
Are there any older units that you think might fill this bill-or is the sportster worth the premium because of extra features.
Thanks |

If your current unit/receiver is working, for some reason I would want to wait for the XM/Sirius merger to go through to see what kind of units would be produced by the combined company.
If needing a unit in the meantime, I would still wait for the Stiletto 2 to come out prior to Christmas.
The Starmate 4 is functional. |

I was going to say the Sportster 4 b/c of the car docking unit, but the Starmate 4 has the same thing....
I prefer the larger screen if I had to choose. |

| I'm having major trouble with the Starmate 4, and cheaper older units have worked in my car before (XACT). Even with the FM extendor attached the Starmate is all staticky. I pretty much want to throw it in the river and sell my Sirius stock! Anyone else have this problem/or have another radio to recommend that will work on the first try (I'm sick of wasting my time on this one). |
