i just want to know whether or not he won....i have been searching the web since last night and cant find any kind of results on brent or any other fighter last night.
glasskitchen
Morning all.

Looking for the same, love to know the results. Geez we are marks. Oh well.
callingforabeer
marks or not, it sucks that this thing has been hyped for so long and out of the 200 or 300 people that were there, its hard to believe no btls fans or sfn folks were there.
slumlord66
Call Gracie Tampa.

EDIT: nm, I called. Got an answering machine.
ADelpiero10
he must of lost.

if he would of won, you know someone would of ran in here and mentioned the results. I could be wrong, but seems silence speaks loudly on some shows. Isn't Spice fighting soon?
patfromkingston
It would be nice if we did know if he won or not.
Napoli
no news yet?
callingforabeer
i just called gracie tampa. only got an answering service. looking at their schedule, they are probably closed on sunday...any more suggestions??
callingforabeer
just called safety harbor community center...same result
glasskitchen
Howard news should be all over this.
MisterMeener
Of coarse he won becouse his theme music was tight! :box:
yambag
$25 a copy WTF
callingforabeer
i bet you could get in for $5 a copy today... LMAO...anyone having any luck finding anything out??
greddy10
you would think someone would have blogged about the event on btls.com and where the hell has laskers blogs been?
callingforabeer
i understand the show trying to keep it k5 but like i said you would think out of the 200 or 300 people at least one of them would be a sfn'er and could shed some light on the deal
glasskitchen
I hope he did win.. but dear god, if he didn't.. radio gold. That could go on for months.
callingforabeer
im really pulling for him....im a solid brent mark. if he loses, i dont know if i could listen to the show for a while LoL. they are gonna GREASE him.
The Butler
Someone posted somewhere else that spoke to a person that attended the fight. According to him, Brent lost in the first round. Take that for what it's worth. I'm not totally convinced.

thats a lot of paths for a message to travel....

I can believe that. He didn't look to tough in that training video on btls.com. He looks in good shape physically though.

Exactly, which is why I framed my post as I did.

Yeah, I wouldn't buy it. It's really easy for anyone to say they knew someone there and say he lost. With out any specifics, I'd call bullshit on that.

Anyone on sherdog or any MMA forums? I'd think someone might know there, there had been threads about Brents fight before the fight.

Maybe the boys are going to wait for the show to talk about it.

I bet when Brent showed up to fight, there were only big fat black chicks to fight, so he decided not to fight :D :D :D
WillowGlen
If Brent lost to a condo developer whose been training less than a month its gonna be the funniest thing ever. He'll blame it on everyone but himself. It will somehow be Bubbas fault. Mabye now Brent will STFU about his "MMA training" for a while. His self proclaimed expert opinion on everything MMA is almost as annoying as his self proclaimed expert opinion on eveything else. As someone whose been involved with and taught martial arts for years it just makes me roll my eyes (for real not  ) everytime he opens his mouth. Theres nothing more annoying than an adult male in his first year of training.
tedeso
should have called it the condo developer vs. the radio producer :D
JJL66
anything yet? :dontknow:

First of all, those tits are amazing! I am on the sherdog forums, but nobody there has posted anything about it.

No result's though.

I emailed the five contacts listed at Master Mehrdad's site and just heard back from Joel Collins, Martial Art / Muay Thai Trainer & Fight MatchMaker.

Hadley won, TKO 2nd round, ref stopped it. Brent knocked the guy down twice in the first round and landed a kick to the head in the 2nd that ended it. I'm guessing Bubba really is down on SFN if no one from the show posted here. Kind of sucks.
slumlord66
Hadley?

Anyways, Grats Brent!
joebananas
That's my Ballard. Way to man up, kid.
glasskitchen
Nice! I'm sure they'll still find a way to rib him pretty good.

What's funny is there is a four-person on-air staff (Howard 100 News) and other staff members devoted to reporting the news of both Howard 100 and Howard 101. All these staff members are devoted to about an hour of actual airtime each day.

Yet, they have the weekend off.

News never stops.
crotchie954
good to here that hopefully next time he could get a guy who trainned a bit more than the last
callingforabeer
well, at least the greasin will be about him beating up a guy who trained 3 weeks rather than him getting beat by a guy who trained 3 weeks
46+2
Howard 100 News dropped the ball....they should've sent someone down there to cover it, especially with the Stern show going on vacation this week (they have little better to cover). And what the fuck?--no one on BTLS.com has blogged in a week. Too much to ask that someone just post on there, "Brent won" or "Brent lost"??
Misskitty
I checked the blogs and there wasn't even one. Glad for the update.

Brent lost by TKO in the first round. I saw it, I sat in the center on the 3rd row on the bleachers with my son (in front of concession stand).

Brent's match was the second last of the night. His opponent was probably 10 years younger and a foot or more higher. Having that reach and speed was too much.

All fighters had shin pads, gloves and headgear. One ref worked all the matches and some lady was the announcer. probably from Brent's club. The guy in charge of Brent's club was running the show and they all did a good job.

THE MATCH

They came out at the bell and touched gloves, Brent did not have any offense per se and was kind of feeling things out, crouching kind of. Didn't throw a kick. They mixed it up with punches in the middle of the ring for about a minute then over a bit to the far neutral corner and move ed towards the near neutral corner (where the stairs were)

Then out of nowhere the opponent cracked Brent across the face with a shin.

Brent went down, got up for what looked like was going to be a standing 8 count.

When Brent got up, he staggered kind of to the right and looked dazed in the neutral corner, the referee called it just like that. Brent was more stunned for a moment than hurt.
Brent was a good sport and congratulated his opponent. He did not look hurt.

Bubba was there with a Packer shirt on (not Farve) and a yellow ballcap. He had reserved seats (metal chairs) and there was a whole row of Bubba, Heather who looked beautiful, her daughter and Tyler with a Peyton Manning shirt on (some others I did not recognize in the VIP row). Bubba and Heather were very cool and nice to anyone that shook hands or said hello. They looked like a class act and a fine family. Bubba, Spice and the rest were all cool, they did not try to steal the show or anything. Just attended like fans to support Brent. I saw the Bubba Raw Cameras there and they were shooting promo stuff on the other side of the ring.

I saw Spice, he had a cap on, 25 Cent (full afro always on phone) and some others I could not name but probably from Bubba's crew. Brent was in the corner of the gym with his wife when we came in, the camera crew and others came in later. Brent said hello to my son when he saw him in the men's room. He was cool.

Give Brent credit for having the balls to get in shape and get out there. He was just a overmatched. I thought they might have a little hokey pokey fake stuff going on or maybe they would let Brent win for Bubba Raw. It looked totally on the level, it was the only KO of the night.

I was at the Safety Harbor Community Center with my son early. We watched them set up the ring and things started after 6 15 pm. We got there real early (5 pm) since we wanted to be sure to get seats and did not know what to expect since the place was small. Saw one guy with a Bubba Army shirt, saw Spice go shake his hand.

There were a dozen matches with a short intermission in between. A concession stand and a few tables to the side were selling black t shirts on the left when you walked in. The place got pretty crowded by the time Brent came out.

That's the honest rundown of it. We came over from Orlando for the weekend and we were glad to have seen the fights and the Bubba gang.
Roundhead
Brent is gonna get goofed on for sure. LOL Im sure they r working on paradies as we type :bigthink:

Damn! I think Brent probably would've had a better chance if takedowns and BJJ were allowed. Oh well....it was his first fight and he is older than most fighters who are just starting out (Goodman was, what, something like 10 years younger). Have to respect him for having the balls to get in there too.

I bet Brent's gonna hear some ruthless ribbing tomorrow.
TollBoothGandhi
I guess we will fidn out tommorow if he won or lost either way it should be interesting to say the least!!!!!

BEST POST EVER.
ROTHAUT
Yes, Brent Lost Big Time. Oh Yeah, Queen Bee Looked So Good.
BonswanaMiliken
I wonder if Brent will flip flop on religion and start praying before matches.
gustoffur
Brent is going to have to face the reality that he is past his prime. Ali was washed up by age 35, what makes anyone believe than can seriously start a fighting career at that age?
ihateRobinQ
it would have been worth $25 a copy just to see queen bee in person. gawwwwd!
rozman
I think that this shows that Brent was not prepared or he's just maybe over the hill. I think that Brent should go back to the Brent of old, go to an island, get high and do some wife or couple swapping. Oh wait a second he really wasn't good at that either. Hang in there Brent. I'll think of something.
BungholeBob
i just watched the fight... all i have to say is that brent has balls to stand in there and go toe to toe with that guy!
Zorro
Brent won the moment he stepped into the ring. He reshaped his body ,and win or lose he won because he had the guts to do it. :)

Just watched the fight as well, wow, Brent got his ass kicked. He stood no chance at all in the fight. Have a feeling in his next fight, they are going to pick someone who is just awful, to give the kid some confidence. I haven't trained a day in mma but could last longer than 39 seconds.

Agreed...To step in that ring, he's got balls...

I thought Brent was just making some excuses on the show yesterday. But that was just clearly not a fair fight.

Rob Kahn is a bad ass though.
racerx47
I dont understand why Rob would set him up with an opponent like that on his first fight.I would think they would want to build his confidence a little.

I don't think Rob did. He was full hot at the booker of the event before and especially after the fight. It seemed like they were mislead as to the opponents size and skill level. On the bubbaraw video he makes a reference to never fighting at that place again because of it.
racerx47
Did the booker do that with any of the other fights or just Brents?

I wouldn't be surprised, (personal experience speaking), that sort of thing happens all the time with the lower level cards and promoters. The matching of a weaker fighter to a much stronger, though relatively unknown fighter to pad his ranking happens all the time. Its why some guys have ridiculously inflated records compared to there opponents to whom they sometimes end up losing.
I imagine it has happened a hell of a lot more in boxing than in MMA and percentage wise as well since boxing has been around for so much longer. While it happens MMA seems to be doing a much better job than the years of this type of abuse of fighters on the lower levels of boxing. Sure everything is political to some extent but boxing even worse tot he point of being ridiculous over the years.

BTW I am also sure Rob had no idea I cant imagine any coach/trainer doing that to a fighter nevermind one that could bury them with negative press.
K-Nasty
It was weird, as we all know..... Brent researches everything. But not his opponet? This guy was obviously way outa Brent's skill level as this stage. I give props to Brent for getting in the ring........and getting his bell rung. No research by Brent and no coverage by H100, this event was a bust...........
