SFN and the increasing amount of disrespect being dished out there
I have noticed a trend at SFN that is increasing and disturbing, that is the lack of civility, lack of respect being shown there. It is not just the VIP's that are being subjected to the insults or rude responses, it touches everyone there. I have grown tired of ignorant, assinine responses to my posts. People who seem to believe they do not ever err in life and feel the need to comment on spelling and content, rather than offer any sort of intelligent response are annoying. Perhaps they do not possess the necessary tools to make intelligent comments on the topic at hand, a developed, working , brain. The lack of said brain, may just might be why they show the lack of class, intelligence, or common sense in what they write. Due to the aforementioned remarks I have slowly lost interest in trying to communicate on SFN. It's to bad people can not, at the least, be civil to one another. So, Bubba, Heather, Brent, Amanda, et al, I, too, feel your SFN pain. |

| Cant we all just get along????? I got Sirius for Howard but after listening to Bubba's show on 1-9-06 I was hooked. I love both shows! Both are unique and different and are very funny and entertaining in thier own ways. I agree there is no need for all of the hatred going on here on SFN!!!!!!!!! |

People are pissed. I know its unpopular to say but Howards cruise control show is pissing a lot of people off. Noone wants to pay to hear a guy that works less days a year than he takes off whine about how tired he is. Combine that with lame guests from dating shows that noone but Howard watches, 15 lame ass phony phone calls a day and hours of content even gay people say is too gay and your going to have a revolt. The greatest radio show ever has been turned into nothing but content for a softcore porn premium channel.
And of course those people are going to butt heads with the kool aid drinking fans who are so desperate to feel attached to the show tht theyve even gone as far as to start kissing Ralphs ass just becuase he posts there.
Do you really think the Howard of 5 years ago would ever even consider booking Mark Phillpouses? Talk about out of touch with your audience. But what do youn expect, he doesnt even talk to the real audience any more. The calls are so heavily screened they are practically commercials. Its nothing but Bobo and Bong hit calling in to schill for HowardTV. And dont get me started on him defending his little buddy Ralph. Thats nothing but ego and the refusal to admit he could possibly be wrong about anything.
The non Howard show content is painfully sad. how many crap shows like the Intern show are we supposed to swallow just becuase they are free to produce?
And whether you like the Iron Shiek or not the fact is he was Ferrells guest first. If he was on Howards show first and then did the show he did Thursday for someone else Howard would be on the air claiming he was ripped off.
Is this the "revolution" we were promised?

If people think Bubba ruined the Iron Sheik segment for example, they should be able to say it on this site without fear of repurcussion.
I happen to think Bubba was the best part of that segment, but alot of people disagree strongly and many were punished for saying so. |

You can most likely pull stats to cosign this, but I feel there is lack of maturity in a lot of posters, something that age will help. In the mean time those of us with it will just have to grin and bare it. Trynot to take it to heart Mutt, you've done nothing wrong, you've made a great thing here. Are you (the original poster) seriously calling for maturity and respect on a fucking internet message board? This community is comprised of people at their computers typing in things that they will NEVER have to be held accountable for. Mutt has nowhere to go here because he wants to keep a relationship with the shows and he can't do that without limiting what people say here. He can only go so far. He can't ban someone whenever they say "Bubba sucks" or "Howard sucks" because there wouldn't be anyone left, and then there wouldn't be anybody to click on banner ads and make him money.
That said, I don't agree with how he operates. I think he should let people say whatever they want, fuck the VIPs. But I'm not him. |

With all due respect Mutt, I don't think this an "us vs. them" thread. And I don't believe any one is "bashing" Howard. We are all Howard fans first and foremost. I believe many people, including me, think Howards show has become lackluster at best. I believe we are entitled to state that opinion on a "fan site" dedicated to the show.
As far as the ripping on VIP's and such. I think it is pathetic that people think by going after elite members of this site that they are somehow going to get thier 5 minutes of fame in the world of Howard Stern by doing so.
You, Mutt have done a great job with the board and are in a bad spot as everyone thinks that they can emulate you and become part of the show by posting on your board. That was a once in a lifetime deal and you already cashed it in. |

I know I am knew here but I am certainly not new to internet forums. I visit, moderate, and admin in several of them.
This place is really no different. What sets this one apart in the general attitude is non censorship. which IMO is good. I don't censor on my site either.
I do however have several gaming boards that are censored since they are so corporate.
What get me over these past couple of years,actually since about 2002 is this is a place ( forums ) that is where everyone has a say. That does not mean that everyone has to respond. Some just respond just to goad someone and start flaming. I can really see that here. What really gets me is the amount of negativity I see on these boards when most here are supposed to be fans.
With that said I will continue to read and wait out my 30/30/30 rule which I think is annoying. LOL. :o |

Always hating on the shows is crap, but cant the guys take a little constructive criticism? If SFN was only for ass kissing, would the big names ever bother having a look? |

| I don't think that Bubba having a meltdown about getting hammered on SFN for ruining the Iron Shiek bit should be grounds for saying we shouldn't write about something if thats how you feel. If you think something sucked then you should be able to voice that in a constructive, articulate manner. If you silence people on SFN because Bubba's feelings were hurt then, I 'm sorry he should "man up" and move on, not go on his show saying that the Queen Bee was on SFN and those fucks should shut up. If we shut up and we aren't allowed to say something sucked then that defeats the whole idea of a message board, and it will be everyone just "marking out" to Howard et al. |
