You guys who are so driven regarding the Bubba / Ralph meltdown have created much entertainment on this board. Blogging gold! Here's what most of us fans think:

1. Heather is hot. No matter where you are from - she's great looking, articulate, etc., etc.

2. Sinking down to Ralph's level and berating his wedding gift showed poor judgement. You just don't do that.

3. No matter what the excuse, Bubba's comments to the Iron Shiek didn't work. He can blame it on Howard's instructions, but at the end of the day it threw cold water on the bit.

4. We all know that Ralph is a douchebag. Bubba putting Ralph in the spotlight once again is just prolonging his faux-career. Ignore him. Most of us do.

5. A lot of Stern fans continue listening to Sirius because of Bubba. We don't turn it off. Bubba has grown on us like herpes lesions.

6. Bubba rules when he's in his element. New York is poison to Bubba. You can tell he's uncomfortable in that environment and it comes across over the radio.

7. Fuck Ned.

I am and always will be loyal to Stern since Channel 9 days and I am one of those has-beens who believes the Billy West/Jackie days were the golden age. In the past, I would have NEVER EVER considered listening to anyone who calls themselves "Bubba the Love Sponge" purely out of principle. Additionally, after he single handedly destroyed the Shiek bit (the most anticipated guest in years) I despised him more so. However, after listening to his show on Thursday and Friday I began to appreciate his point of view, especially, regarding Ralph. Also, I got to like him as a personality and the way he handled Akira, however, some of his staff (i.e. spiceboy or spiceguy) is not entertaining. Unfortunately, Bubba has to carry the show all by himself which makes it difficult to listen long term. I imagine he probably doesn't have the budget to hire quality people (comedians/writers) like Artie but his current staff is below average and truly bring the show down. In closing, I will continue to listen to Bubba with the hope that he can get more talent on his show because he is truly talented and has a good future in radio...Bravo Bubba and welcome to the Stern family we are loyal but demanding fans so get your show in order.

My opinion is just the opposite. I have been a Bubba fan for almost a decade and since I got Sirius I have listened to Howard as well. But I find his humor a little less to my liking and just assumed it was his supporting staff. I like Artie the most, he is funny but Mansons bits are funnier to me. These are 2 entirely different types of shows it just depends on what type of humor you like. All you longtime Howard fans know everyones past on the show and what they have contributed.Since I maybe listen to Howard once a week I am still learning who has what role. But when I listen to Bubba I feel like I know everyone and all their life stories. Im glad you like Bubba Im sure the more you listen to him the more his staffs personalities will amuse you.

Sorry dude, but I think Brent is a real asset to his show. He keeps things topical, he's got a hair-trigger temper, and he is a great foil for Bubba. Manson does some good bits. Spice Boy and the character Ned, however, suck. 25 cent as the 'house naygro' doesn't do it for me.

If Bubba could stick to rapping about the Bubba lifestyle, and keep some of his bits to a minimum - I think his appeal would broaden north of the Mason Dixon line. Bubba could carry the afternoon on Sirius, with me listening - but now I find myself switching over to Stern replays after the first hour. That's when the show starts disintegrating.

Bubba and Brent talking about their lives - the mix-in's, the works, the shoots - with Hootie, Tiz and Lasker on the backside make for radio gold. The other schtick is just that - schtick.

How many more of the same green room stripper banter do we have to listen to? It's all the same shit. Bubba ain't the only hillbilly that has to lean down - the show does too.

...just sayin'

It is time to keep Ralph off the air. The last time the group was on vacation I was listening to the replay. Ralph made a statement "he is better then any listener." NOW his statement to Bubba "Fuck you and fuck your wife". Why? Because Heather made fun of his wedding gift? Ralph was out of line and needs to go. He is no longer needed on any show. And he can take Sal with him.

I think Bubba gets too caught up in what the SFNers have to say. especially in the Howard Forum. Brent said it best - no one wants to read negative shit about themselves. Bubba has won me over - a diehard Howard fan for over 20 years.....He is a competitive person and wants the approval of all Stern fans now that he is in the Stern arena(H101). Unfortunately some people are so stuck in their perception of Bubba that they won't even give him a chance...you can see it in the daily listening thread when Bubba is on Howard's show. Bubba is a different taste than howard - I think his hillbilly schtick is taken too seriously by the Howard fans that won't give it a chance. He is no dumb hick(Bubba) he just uses that schtick for an angle to his show.

Regardless of how the others feel, I am so happy to have discovered the Bubba show and we will all look back on this time 10 years from now as a golden age of satellite radio.

Some of you need to be honest with yourshelves and admit that when it comes down to saying that The Iron Shiek was prolly the most anticipated Stern guest for a while that Stern is losing his game. The Iron Sheik just replayed his Script serveral times over at Sirius...he was on OutQ with the same "FUCK YOU IN THE ASS YOU JEW FAG" routine before he was on howard. I didn't catch the bit but it seems like it was as unoriginal as they come...

So sad

Sometimes I feel like washing out my ears after hours of Stern with Bubba's show. For the most part, it's different enough from Stern but still caters to my warped, stuck in junior high sense of humor. Who would you rather party with - Stern or Bubba? For me, it's Bubba. If you watch the Food Network, Howard is like Bobby Flay and Bubba is like that fat assed chick who looks like she knows how to party. Rachel Ray is her name I think.

Agreed. The Iron Shiek came off as a testosterone laden Miss Howard Stern. Out of control, on the bag, and after 1 minute, annoying as hell.
