Bubba said 2 weeks ago that he would hire Coco back if they got a new deal. Well he met with Karmazin and then hired Coco back. I hope he got an iggy that he will be resigned.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he got a verbal agreement at least. He has seemed like he has been in a 100x better mood since he got back from NY.
Dakota4791
I think so.... if he says otherwise, I'd say at this point, it's a work.
VancouverBud
I hope so
ArtieInBoston
I'm guessing they (Mel) gave him some reassurance a deal would get done. There was a bit much of the "podcast willy" talk, up until they left for NYC.
CHU
I hope he has some sort of creative control clause in the new deal, if reached.
bubbad45
they have to resign bubba who the hell else could they replace him with?
maccat0600
Plus Buuba said he was in his office (Mel's) for more then 30 min which Ross Z. said that was a long time to meet with Mel.
Under Pressure
Bubba said the other day that Mel was impressed that Bubba kept his crew together for the two years they were out of work.
SiriusBlack
I hope they keep him.
I really enjoy his show.

The only thing I heard Bubba really said was when he was on Howards show that he had a 45 minute meeting with Mel which is really unheard of due to how busy he is. This is a really good sign that Mel wants to keep Bubba for the long term.
jimmyritt33
plus they're adding a Friday Wrap-up Show, planning their next trip to NY, talking about doing some traveling as a show and doing the Ned Comedy Show. that's a lot of planning for someone that has a little under 4 months left on his contract. please let our speculation be the truth.

Howard supporting Bubba = New Contract for Bubba

Loving the political stuff!

Bubba just hinted about going back to regular radio on Jan. 1. His new contract may not be with sirius

He needs to do the best thing for him, since he's in the prime of his career.

Friday Wrap up show? This is the first I'm hearing of this. Great news. Now all I'm waiting for is the Bubba fan roundtable.
bubbad45
but to put up with all the bullshit and to be censored like a 5 year old the show would be hard to listen to after we all have been spoiled by uncensored radio.
brokenspine
He said something about promos in september and made a joke about mj.so what the fuck is going on? Is he going back to local tampa radio if so that fuckin sucks for all of us that will not be able to hear his show.

Only time will tell.

I think he also said possibly being able to announce something about begginning of September. I sure hope he stays on Sirius.
jenjenjen420
He's been in a REALLY good mood lately ....

Bubba is the consumate showman......he and the boys aren't going anywhere........
nedmark61
he's gondie folks...... chalk it up, he's making a dash
greddy10
He has a deal on the backside just in case Sirius doesn't resign him. I remember a while ago Hogan was on the phone and said something about a radio gig. Bubba acted a little odd with his response, and didn't say much about it.
CHU
I have a feeling Bubba's not going to be re-upped by Sirius because of a money issue and the sad state of terrestrial radio in some markets. Corporations can throw money Sirius won't give to Bubba and that will be hard to turn down.

I'm just guessing Kidd Chris would be first in line to replace Bubba and, if that's the case, I'm jumping to Jason Ellis' show on Faction in the afternoons.

Sirius needs to open their wallets and quit trying to "Riley Martin" some people.
tedeso
howard always said it was a done deal

I think he hired coco back to give himself a better chance of winning the bubba Olympics. And they will wait till about 2 weeks before the end of his contract before resigning him. They have already done it to another on air personalty. Jason Ellis worked for about a month without a contract. It wouldn't surprise if they strung him along and he works for a couple of weeks while they iron out the contact.
hooookup
If Bubba doesn't renew his contract for whatever reason, i'm probably going to bail Sirius. Bubba is one of the best things to happen to SIRIUS and Satellite radio. Stern is great but i'm rarely up in time to listen to his show these days. The only other shows I really dig are Ellis mate and Farrell.
NYYOwnUAll
sirius, lock him in now, dont let him go. I also heard him say something about a jan 1st, competing against a guy across the street
46+2
I definitely think he got a verbal "reassurance" from Mel or verbally ironed out some of the basics of a contract extension. And he has been quite a bit calmer since that trip up to New York. Also, he alluded to something when Tim Sabian was in the studio one day and Sabian told him to hold off on discussing it. Bubba has also spoken of an announcement, which only fuels speculation.

Although Bubba could go back to testicle radio, I don't see it happening regardless of the money. Bubba and crew were walking on the edge of decency/indecency (based on the FCC and Clear Channel's definitions) before they were fired by Clear Channel and censorship has gotten fifty times worse than it was four years ago. Hell, like half of Ned and Manson's bits (past and future) would be censored.

Plus, I do not see Sirius letting him go anywhere. Howard has virtually said as much himself.

bubba's here to stay dont let the marks work you into a shoot kid

The announcement that Tim told him to hold off on was the Bubba Wrap Up Show, which was announced the following day (Friday).

Bubba met with BOTH Mel "Karmaz-on" and Scott Greenstein while up at "corporate." If he wasn't reassured by those meetings, as well as getting strong backing/reassurance from Howard, Tim, and Ross, we'd ALL be seeing that coming through on his Show now. No bubbles, no troubles...BTLS is locked in.

Sweet.

Love Bubba and the crew like family now, I can't imagine the channels without the madman Bubba, Brent meister and Ned, Spice boy faggot....we need these guys on the team...I fucking hope Bubba does a week out of Jamaica or somewhere, I would love to watch him broadcast from a resort, drink in hand, flip flops....it would be amazing.
Matt Rogers
Hard to imagine Sirius without the Bubba Crew. Not sure I would stick around...
MainJ
I don't think Bubba is going anywhere. Howard will be retiring in a few years and I think if Bubba sticks around he will be able to get a bigger piece of the Sirius pie.

It would be like having to move back into your parents house after being on your own for awhile. Nobody wants that shit.

He doesn't want to screw around with censorship and the FCC anymore. :)
crazy4alice
I thought that the suits at Sirius were waiting to see if the merger happened before they committed any cash to Bubba. It sometimes appears that money is kind of tight at Sirius and Bubba doesn't come cheap. This could be a nailbiter.
bubbamark1181
I hope btls and the boys within all stay and the suits give them a fair deal come on kid no how to work
OHIOFAN69
They are not going anywhere, but they are not going to be doing as crazy bits eithier.
bubbamegamark
it will be one shitty ass day if Bubba isn't on Sirius anymore. One this is for sure though, something happened in New York or around that time frame because he is way too upbeat for having an uncertain future. Either Mel got him locked up or he has a Plan B already in place. I just hope that it is with Sirius because I know I won't be able to hear it up here in VA. Even in syndication on regular shitty ass radio there is no way it would get picked up in my area.

Bubba said before that he would see if he could do sirius and local , maby he got the ok from mel, but i found this on Wikipedia and this might be sirius problme with bubba

Brooke Skye lawsuit
On October 9, 2006, internet porn star Brooke Skye, whose real name is Hope Miller, sued Bubba, claiming that on the June 12 program, he forced her to perform a sex act on his show. Also named in the lawsuit is Sirius Satellite Radio, the cast members of Bubba's show, and another internet porn star, Melissa Harrington, who goes by her porn monicker, Melissa Midwest.[1]

The lawsuit states that Bubba flew in Harrington to have sex with her on the show using a sex toy that is more popularly known as a strap-on, and that Bubba did not tell Miller that he was planning to do such an act when she agreed to be on the show. Miller said the toy was too big, but despite her repeated objections, Bubba forced the sex act to continue. The lawsuit also states that Bubba berated her when she tried to back out and threatened to stop promoting her Web site.

As of July 25, 2007, Florida Circuit Judge Marva Crenshaw ruled that Miller presented enough facts to support her claim so the lawsuit can continue. Bubba's attorney, Robert Santa Lucia, said the lawsuit was an attempt by Miller to promote her Web site. Miller's attorney, Steve Silton, countered by stating that Clem gave Miller alcohol even though she was not 21 years old and told her he would get her to do something she didn't want to do. When Miller objected, he threatened her, saying that her career would be ruined and that he would tell his listeners not to patronize her Web site.[2]

Wasn't bubba under contract from clear channel and still collecting a paycheck for the 2 years?

Thats why clear channel held the crews feet to the fire and wouldnt allow bubbas crew to work anywhere else until the contract was up....then when it was spice pussyed out and went back to clear channel or something of that sort..

I mean some people make it sound like they were flat broke and not making any money...

Not sure what the deal was but thats what the iggy was from what i heard...

Im sure one of the elite can chime in and inform those of us who aint in the KNOW

Somebody already posted something about the reference being aimed at MJ.

Speaking of Brooke Skye and the lawsuit, on the second page of her website there is a pic of her wearing a strap on and another chick sucking on it. Heh.
