I was just flippin' through the dial and apparently Billy's gettin' a library dedicated to him or something like that, and there was interview footage with Bill and Hillary. Both of 'em were GUSHING about what a great guy he was, how he was a major inspiration to them both, how Bill has been donating money to Billy's ministry since he was 6 years old...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Billy Graham part of that "religious right" that Brent's always whining about? I'm not a religious guy, I'm an atheist personally, but I still found Brent's comments about the "religious right" pretty offensive today. He said the "religious right" would love to have the power to put rape victims to death. I mean, c'mon! I know Brent has a blind hatred of all things Republican, but that is a RIDICULOUS statement. It totally undermines any credibility Brent may have had on the subject, cuz clearly he's in the grip of some sick, paranoid, delusional psychosis if he REALLY believes the "religious right" wants to execute rape victims. I mean, he's raving like a lunatic these days.
Yes, yes, I know what he meant... That the "religious right" is all a buncha nazi's and he just got carried away. Still. That's a pretty sick, fucked-up thing to say or think about anybody. There's gotta be something seriously wrong with you for your brain to go to a place like THAT, even in jest. |

It's related cuz I couldn't believe what Brent said and it offended me. I'm not "religious", but I'm definitely part of the "right" that these guys bash CONSTANTLY. I just thought it was interesting that a major figure of the "religious right" was so close to the heroes of the "liberal left", even though those people do nothing but bash 'em constantly. I dunno, I guess I just wanted to illustrate that the issues are not as black and white, as right and left as these guys are always sayin' on the show.
I'm used to takin' shit from liberals, but Brent's just gettin' obsessive and creepy about it. People who talk like Brent was talkin' today are the people that turn into the Lee Harvey Oswalds and John Hinckleys of tomorrow. Lee Harvey Oswald was an ex-marine too.
If you don't want to participate, that's fine, but even Bubba will say that the show can't ALWAYS be about whores and ball-shockin'. I threw this out there and people can take it or leave it. (I bet you'd give a shit if he said Jeff Gordon or Tito Ortiz wanted to execute rape victims... ;) ) |
