When I was in high school back in 89, I joined the marines so that I could go to war and kill people. I was in for 5 years. I made it to Kuwait and Somalia. The killing was good, but not as good as today. I only wish that I'd graduated high school in 2001 instead of 89.

Besides, a draft won't help us defeat Osama bin Laden. At this point, a genie with three wishes wouldn't help. We will continue to get our collective asses kicked by a several thousand-person-strong rogue group of men until our so-called "leaders" quit trying to fight the enemy they want to face, and fight the enemy we are actually facing. It's been nearly six years since 11 September 2001 and the overwhelming majority of the country is no wiser. I would like everyone to do a year of mandatory service after high school. I served from '83 to 86' (Just like Zimmie :funny: ) and my brother in law is still in the Guard that was deployed to Kuwait at the beginning of the war. He now has a rash that everyone who was deployed over has. The Army Doctors have no clue what it is but they give him some kind of ointment to relive the symptoms. I would think twice becuase people are coming back with some wierd shit.
In an unrelated note my sister and Bro in law are kool aide drinking republicans. They commented that the USA is going to Iran next. I asked them if we were going to borrow an Army. That shut them up. You would be amazed what FoxNews and other media outlets have on weak minded people. |

I never have been in the military. I was taught at a young age that many corrupt politicians like to send our young men and women into harm's way for personal profit and that the military isn't usually used to protect our country as it is used as our muscle to bully the rest of the world.
Looks like I was taught right. And don't say I'm disparaging the troops, I'm not. I'm disparaging the leaders of this country, not the troops.
In any case, I can see you're another douchebag who gets more caught up with semantics rather than wanting to discuss the real issues.
